For Immediate Release: CRA Super Series Contact: Glenn Luckett 812-883-0455 Fairgrounds Speedway Nashville Contact: Tammy Brewington 615-242-2077 Kyle Busch Will Have Plenty of Competition in CRA's All American 150 in Nashville Salem, IN & Nashville, TN(April 23, 2009) - NASCAR star Kyle Busch will have plenty of competition to race against in next weekends CRA Super Series All American 150 at the historic Fairgrounds Speedway located in Nashville, Tennessee. Busch has been the winningest driver in all three top tier NASCAR Series the past two seasons, winning a record 21 races in those three series including the Sprint Cup Series, Nationwide Series and the Camping World Truck Series in 2008 and is already back to his winning ways in 2009 with two Cup wins and is seventh in series points, two Nationwide wins were he is also the current points leader and two Truck Series wins, were he also leads the points going into this weekends NASCAR racing action. Busch hasn't been winning so frequently when competing in CRA Super Series events. He got his first CRA win in this past January's SpeedFest 2009 non-points special event at Lanier National Speedway. Busch will be looking to get his first series points win in the All American 150, he came close last season, finishing second to David Stremme in last season's CRA Winchester 400 event at Winchester Speedway. Next weekend will be the first of four events that Busch will race with the series this season. He will also compete in the Rowdy Busch 125 on June 10that Berlin Raceway, in the Redbud 300 on June 16th at Anderson Speedway and in the 38th Annual Winchester 400 on October 18th at Winchester Speedway. Ryan Lawler, who will practice and qualify Busch's car next weekend while Busch is racing in Richmond, will drive the teams CRA late model in several other events during the 2009 season. Per CRA rules if Lawler qualifies in the top 20, Busch will have to start 20th, if he qualifies out of the top 20 Busch will have to start on the tail of the field when he arrives on Sunday. Next weekends event will be the first ever CRA Super Series and CRA Super Series South combination points event. The CRA South series debuted at Watermelon Capital Speedway on April 4thwere Bubba Pollard got the first ever series win. The CRA Super Series has been in existence since 1997 and has been competing at the Fairgrounds in Nashville since 2003 and has been sanctioning the Nashville All American 400 event since 2004. The CRA Nashville events have become famous for continuing the Nashville tradition of bringing the best talent from the North against the best talent in the South and May 3rd's All American 150 will be no different. There are three former CRA Nashville event winners entered so far for the All American 150 including John VanDoorn who won the CRA Nashville All American 400 event in 2007, Boris Jurkovic who won the same event in 2006 and three time series Champion Scott Hantz who won last season's All American 150. All three got to play the famous Copley Guitar Trophy in Nashville's victory lane, a trophy that is one of the most coveted in all of Motorsports. Jurokovic comes in as the North Series point's leader and VanDoorn as the series most recent winner, getting the victory for his new Kaos Motorsports team in the series season opener at Anderson Speedway on April 11th. Pollard has entered and comes in as the South's most recent winner and is tied for the series points lead with Ryan Sieg, who has also entered. Other top CRA Northern drivers entered include multi-time series winner Rick Turner, 2008 Rookie of the Year Aaron Pierce, Jason Shively, Adam Purdy, John Heck and 2006 Rookie of the Year Danny Jackson. A strong group of CRA K&N Filters Rookie of the Year candidates have entered including current rookie points leader Justin Matson, Nick Lay, 16 year old Damon Ecoff and Brandon Fagin. Some of the top CRA South drivers entered include Augie Grill who has been one the hottest late model drivers around the past couple of years with big wins in the Snowball Derby and The Rattler. Other CRA South drivers entered include former NASCAR All Pro Champion Jeff Fultz, former NASCAR Cup driver Stanley Smith and Tennessee native Tony Ponkauskas. While Grill and Pollard have both been on rolls lately, no other driver has gotten more attention than 16 year old Johanna Long from Pensacola, Florida who has entered the All American 150. Long captured several Pro Late Model wins last season along with the Pro Late Model Championship at Five Flags Speedway. Long won her first Super Late Model event in the Blizzard Series season opener at Five Flags on April 10th. Long has competed in a handful of CRA events including both series events last season at Nashville were she was running in the top ten in the All American 150 before getting involved in an accident and finished 11th in the 200 lap All American event last November. Other top drivers entered include Josh Vadnais, Scott Carlson, Dennis Schoenfeld, Donnie Wilson, Fain Skinner, John Bolen, Johnny Brazier, Joe Ross and J.R. Norris driving for famed crew chief Ritchie Wauters. Hartsville, Tennessee driver Zach Taylor has entered driving the Tim Steele owned #16. This will be the first race for that new driver owner combination, Taylor finished fifth in CRA points last season while Steele's team also finished in the top ten last season and has four series victories to date including the 2007 Nashville All American event. In all there are 32 drivers entered to date from 14 different states, that list is expected to continue to grow as the event draws nearer. The event pays $5000 to win, but more importantly the top three finishers of the All American 150 get guaranteed starting positions in the prestigious CRA sanctioned Nashville All American 400 event on November 1st. Pit gates will open on Saturday, May 2 at 10am. Practice will begin at 1pm, with qualifying at 4pm. Gates open on Sunday, May 3 at 10am, warm-up laps begin at 12noon. There will be an autograph session with all the competing drivers at 1pm. The race program will start at 2pm and will include a 50 lap Modified feature, the All American 150 and a 100 lap Nashville Sportsman/CRA Street Stock combination feature that will pay $1000 to the winner.
