  RIVERVIEW SPEEDWAY WILL BE CLOSED FOR THE 2010 SEASON !!!!

As the economy hits America hard, it also hits area race tracks.  Race fans if you love racing and your local track is still open for 2010 season, you need to show your support by not missing a race and racers build them cars and racing them.  I know of drivers that have cars just sitting in barns, garages and etc.  If we don't back our track all over America then another track will be added to the list of tracks closing.

It is with great gratitude that today I announce Kentucky Lake Motor Speedway is officially closed and for sale.

The Speedway will not promote any other events for the 2009 season. I would like to thank you for your support over the last few years.

Dear Editorial Teams,

Come celebrate Media Day at The Highland Rim Speedway!

For those of you who have not heard, Bobby & Stephanie Hamilton, Jr are the proud new owners of the The Rim.  We welcome all of you to join us for our "warm- up" Racing event this Sat 3/6 prepping for The Big Opening Race Day on 3/13!  Complimentary food and drink for the fans.  Drivers will spotlight their cars about 11am and begin practice at 12pm.   Lots of changes, renovations, renewal of an amazing family environment happening everyday and more on its way.

We are looking at various media avenues for the upcoming season and would love to hear from your teams about partnering ideas, advertising packages, special event coverage, press releases, and more.  The Highland Rim Speedway website at www.highlandrim.com is being updated and enhanced with news events, new sponsorships, links to corporate sponsors.

Why not look to the The Rim as another partner to share your upcoming events as well.

I am new to the Hamilton Racing Team and recognize Bobby Jr and Stephanie have already established strong, successful working relationships with some of you.  I would like the opportunity to introduce myself and in time establish the same.

I was at Highland Rim Speedway today and talked to Bobby Hamilton, Jr.  He was very busy and had a crew cutting weeds and cleaning up.  Bobby did say they were very busy and the weather had really been a factor.  Race fans look for some exciting racing coming to the Rim in 2010.  More updates and news about the Rim as I get them.

This is what happens when you are in a 35 MPH wreck and you don't have your seatbelt on.I broke my nose in four places and 5 stiches.My 4 year old was properly placed in his booster seat and did not have a scratch on him.So next time you get in your car make it click,don't be stupid like me and learn it the hard way!!!! POSTED 2-10-10 DALLAS JONES BUYS FOUR FORD LATE MODEL STOCK CARS

Dallas Jones never stops wheeling and dealing.  While in the hospital having open heart surgery and then in recovery he is buying race cars.  Yes, you heard right.  Dallas had triple by-pass surgery on Friday morning then on Monday morning goes home and while all that was going on in his life he makes a deal and buys FOUR late model stock cars.  All turn-key FORD late models.  And these cars will be on the track in 2010 season.  I guess Dallas will be looking for drivers.  Who knows, I may drive one of them!  This is not a rumor, Dallas bought 4 FORD LATE MODEL cars.  I was at Beech Bend today and talked with Dallas and Alfreda.  Dallas was looking very good.  I am happy to report that he seems to be on a great road of recovery.  I know I can speak for Dallas and the Jones family by saying thanks to all that sent cards, emails, calls and etc.  More news on these late model cars as I have it.

POSTED 2-5-10 CLOSING OF KENTUCKY KINGDOM MAKES BEECH BEND PARK NUMBER ONE

Big news in the state of Kentucky.  Kentucky Kingdom Amusement Park closed down today.  The closing of this park makes Beech Bend Park the states largest amusement park in Kentucky.  This news coming today after Beech Bend Park has already announced that it is expanding it's water park, some new rides, and a theater for concerts.  Plus the announcement of FREE soft drinks and sun screen in 2010.  Be sure to get your season passes now on sale at Beech Bend Park or www.beechbend.com 

POSTED 2-5-10 OWNER OF BEECH BEND RACEWAY PARK IS HOSPITALIZED

Dallas Jones, owner of Beech Bend Raceway Park, was admitted to the Medical Center of Bowling Green. He had triple by-pass heart surgery this morning.  I talked to his daughter and son today.  They both reported that he has come through the surgery fine, and is now in recovery.  He is not allowed visitors.  If you would like to write a comment of get well on this site, I will print them and take to his family.  So please feel free to send your condolences on this site.  Thank you.  Our thoughts and prayers are with Dallas and the entire Jones family.
