All-American 400 Weekend in Nashville Postponed

Nashville, TN - The management at Fairgrounds Speedway at Nashville has postponed the All- American 400 weekend until November 20-22 due to deteriorating weather conditions forecast for the Metro Nashville area.
"The forecast right now is for rain, heavy at times, starting Thursday through Saturday," said Danny Denson, promoter of Fairgrounds Speedway. "With that much rain, over three days we are concerned about the track seeping water on Sunday and this is not really an event we can do in one day. We thought it was best to pull the plug early and try another date rather than have all the teams and fans make the drive to Nashville and not be able to race."
The All-American 400 weekend in Nashville will start with an open practice on Friday, November 20th, pits open and rig parking begins at 1:00 pm CST, rotating practice will go from 4:00 pm-9:00 pm. Pits open on Saturday, November 21stat 8:30 am, practice will begin at 11:00 am, qualifying at 3:45 pm. There will be racing on Saturday night with 50 lap features for the Howe CRA Late Model Series with the Nashville Super Trucks, the CRA Street Stocks with the Nashville Sportsman cars and for the USA Modifieds.
Pits will open on Sunday, November 22ndat 9:30 am. An autograph session involving all the drivers at the grandstand fence will begin at noon. The All-American 400 events will begin at 1:00 pm with the 250 lap CRA All American event followed by the 150 lap GAS Series All American event.

With persistent rains forecasted to hit the metro Nashville, TN area, Fairgrounds Speedway at Nashville officials have announced that the famed All American 400, scheduled to take place this weekend will be postponed for all series and divisions scheduled to compete. The new date for the famed historical race will be November 20, 21, and 22.
"I have spoken with members of Fairgrounds Speedway and we collectively decided that with weather moving in the area, the best thing is to reschedule this famed event, and the season ending for the Georgia Asphalt Series," said GAS General Manager Terry Roberts. "We know that the GAS race will be the talk of the town, with the tight points battle that we have heading into this event. We would like to invite all of the racers with the CRA North to race with us in this prestigious event."
To bring in more racers GAS officials have also announced a reduced entry price for members and non-members alike, $150 instead of the $200. For the GAS Series racers that have already pre-registered, they will receive a $50 refund at the back gate the weekend of November 20th.
Looking into the exciting points chase, the top three title chasers are under one hundred points from seeing who is #1. Casey Roderick leads the points, as he has twenty five thousand reasons why to hold on to the GAS points lead, as he will get a $25,000 dollar bonus, for capturing the Super 6 points championship as well as hanging on to win the points title. Roderick's teammate, Chase Elliott is a close second with Acworth, GA's TJ Reaid storming in lurking in the third points position. When the checkered flag flies over the 150 lap GAS Series event there will be cheers of joy for not only the winner of the 150 lap event, but the race to the championship.

Mason Mingus: Local Driver Competing During All-American 400 Weekend

When Mason Mingus began his racing career at only seven-years-old in the quarter midgets division, it only took three races for him to prove he far exceeded the normal novice status for someone his age. Mingus, from Brentwood, Tennessee, advanced on to several big wins in his two-year quarter midget career and successfully earned a top-five position in points in two separate divisions.
Mingus’ next racing stop landed him in the Mini Cups division where the speeds increased along with his enthusiasm and sheer excitement. Adults and children alike get a small dose of what authentic racing can be in the ½-scale Mini Cup cars, so Mingus competed there for two years and captured five wins and two top-5 finishes.
Following along in NASCAR star Carl Edwards’ footsteps, Mingus next strapped in to compete in the Baby Grand Series. These fast machines are 2/3-scale race cars that can easily hit speeds up to 100 miles per hour. In Mingus’ first full season he earned the Eastern National Championship as he raced all over the east and mid-west states.
In 2008 Mingus was in pursuit of a season championship in the Baby Grand Series when he mentioned an interest in seizing an opportunity for seat time in a Late Model Series stock car. Gardner Racing, located in Louisville, Kentucky, offered Mingus a Late Model test at Beech Bend Speedway in Bowling Green, Kentucky. With only a handful of test laps completed Mingus nearly mirrored the lap times of seasoned weekly competitors and left no doubt he was poised enough to race a Late Model at only thirteen-years-old.
By April 2009 Mingus began competing in a newly-formed series called the KEN-TEN Series where Late Model racers from Kentucky and Tennessee battle for border bragging rights. Mingus impressively scored five top-5 finishes in only ten events and ended the season in eighth-place in the final points tally. He also won a 50-lap race at The Kentucky Motor Speedway in Whitesville, Kentucky, the same track where NASCAR stars Darrell and Michael Waltrip, Jeremy Mayfield, and the Green brothers all began their racing careers.
Next up on Mingus’ climb up the racing ladder will be when he tests his mettle at the prestigious All-American 400 at the Fairgrounds Speedway in Nashville, Tennessee on November 1st. Kevin Gardner, Mingus’ car owner and crew chief for the Diamond Equipment/Chartwell Properties Ford Fusion, will be on hand in Nashville to try and push the young rookie beyond expectations.
“It should be a great show at Nashville for the fans and hopefully a great showing for our team. We’re ready to go out and see if we can capture one of those cool guitar trophies,” said Mingus.
When Mingus isn’t racing, he is a typical fourteen-year-old student at Franklin Road Academy. He is the current back-up linebacker and fullback for the varsity football team. Mingus is also on the school’s wrestling team where his middle school record was 15-2 and he was 4-2 as part of the varsity team.
Come out this weekend, October 30, 31, and November 1st to see if Mingus can capture his first CRA Racing division win at the historical .596 asphalt short track during the All-American 400 racing weekend.
