POSTED 10-11-09 GREIG SEALS THE DEAL AT ANDERSON SPEEDWAY

GREIG SEALS DEAL, THARP FWD CHAMP Anderson, Indiana - October 10, 2009- Championship night for the International Outlaw Figure 8 Series (IOFS) concluded the 2009 season in exciting fashion. Saturday night's IOFS finale saw a healthy crowd brave the cooler temperatures during the popular 'Night Of Thrills' at Anderson Speedway. Grand Marshal's: Art Cox, Mike St. John, Herb Rose, and Jim Fox helped start the evening when they were honored for their accomplishments at the track over the years. Eddie VanMeter started the evening with the EDCO Welding fast time award with a lap of 16.816 seconds. VanMeter established a new track record that Fred Bear had set in 1996. Heat wins went to: Jeff Swinford, Johny Hargraves, and VanMeter. A total inversion was drawn for the feature. EDCO Welding fast qualifier VanMeter would have to start at the rear of the feature. The front row consisted of Jeff Swinford and Andy Shirley. Interestingly, the invert had the front two rows loaded with stock machines. At the drop of the green Jeff Swinford got the jump and lead the opening two circuits until he gave way to new race leader Jeff Hizer. Hizer lead the next two laps until he spun on lap five handing the lead over to Chris Green. Green assumed the lead on lap five and set a torrid pace with remarkable moves in lapped traffic. At this point there were multiple battles throughout the speedway due to the large number of cars on the track. Green held the point until VanMeter reeled him in on lap 35. Just prior to lap 36 VanMeter and Green made contact sending Green's car towards the infield. At this point both cars were sent to the tail and Doug Greig assumed command. Greig would lead the final 15 laps to claim his first-ever IOFS feature event as well as the 2009 IOFS season championship. Greig had lead the points chase most of the season but had been held winless entering the final night of competition. Greig was also the AMSOIL Hard Charger award winner presented by authorized dealer Elmer Schaeffer. Jesse Tunny and Ben Tunny rounded out the top three. In the IOFS Front Wheel Drive division, current point leader Rickie Tharp set quick time and lead all but one lap to claim the feature win. Tharp was also awarded the 2009 IOFS Front Wheel Drive championship. Tharp had won two of the three events the series contested in its first season. Rounding out the top five in the feature event were: Bill Leisure, Josh Tharp, Johny Greer Jr., and Mike Alley. Next up for the IOFS will be a non-points special 200 lap event at Orange Show Speedway in San Bernardino, CA October 24. For more info log on to: www.iofsracing.com for more details. Grandstand Racer,

I'm not Doodle but I will try my best to answer some of your questions, lol. YES, Doodle got the chassis. He won the chassis by winning the "stocker's points championship". He finished the season with a huge lead over the second place "stocker". He also finished an impressive 6th place in the overall championship points! Not bad at all for what he was competing against! As for this chassis ever being ran in the mod. street division, I doubt it. I am sure it will be at BBR for some testing sooner or later but that is about it. Doodle has always shown a huge interest in the Sportsman division but with the cost of building his new Outlaw figure 8 car AND a sportsman...I think we will just stick to building the Outlaw, lol. Don't get me wrong, I am sure Doodle would take the wheel of any Sportsman car if someone offered him the chance to drive one, lol. If and when that ever happened, it would have to be on a limited basis as he is going to focus on the IOFS series again in 2010. Doodle has some huge goals set for 2010 for himself as a driver and for himself with his new outlaw figure 8 car so he will have to work extremely hard to meet those goals. Being the driver and person Doodle is, I think he will succeed at reaching those goals. He set high goals for this year and met each one! He is such a determined person! Hopefully, Dallas and the IOFS will schedule one than just one race at BBR next season so that will give us a chance to stay closer to home and give the fans some good figure 8 shows!! Either way, Thank You for your support and interest in Doodle's plans! Keep up to date with the lastest IOFS and figure 8 news at iofsracing.com, figure8news.com, race8.com and of course, Odell's site. I am sure there will be a lot of story lines developing throughout the off season. Everyone have a safe and enjoyable off season as the 2010 racing season will be here before we know it!
