WILL KIMMEL FILES ENTRY FOR

SUNDAY’S HALLOWEEN 200

SALEM, IN, October 20 – 2007 Salem Speedway late model champion, Will Kimmel of Sellersburg, Ind., is the latest driver to file an entry for Sunday’s 21st annual Halloween 200, presented by Smoker Friendly Discount Tobacco.

The third-generation driver, who started the 2009 season by competing in the Lucas Oil Slick Mist ARCA 200 at Daytona International Speedway, will be attempting his first Halloween 200 start since 2006.

The 21 year-old Indiana University Southeast student, who is the nephew of nine-time ARCA champion Frank Kimmel and son of famed ARCA crew chief Bill Kimmel Jr., captured the 2007 Salem Speedway late model championship in one of the closest point battles in the history of the division. Kimmel finished three points in front of Keith Gardner to claim the title.

Kimmel’s 2009 racing activities have been limited to just three starts with all coming in ARCA competition. He qualified eighth at Daytona in February and finished 18th after getting caught up in a late race accident. His other two ARCA starts came on the mile-dirt tracks at Springfield and DuQuoin. He finished eighth at Springfield and dropped out of the DuQuoin race early with mechanical problems.

Spectator gates open at 9:30 a.m. on Sunday with practice slated for 10 a.m., and the start of the Halloween 200, presented by Smoker Friendly Discount Tobacco at 1 p.m. (EDT).

Advance general admission tickets are priced at $13 for adults and $3 for children (age 7-12). Kids, age 6 and under, are admitted free with an adult. Advance reserved seat tickets are $18 each. All prices are $2 more weekend of race. For tickets or more information call 812-883-6504 or toll free 1-888-246-7223.

An open practice is scheduled for Saturday from 12-noon to 4 p.m. Spectators are welcome to view the Saturday practice session free of charge from the grandstand area.
