POSTED 2-25-09 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Allison Legacy Series to Take on the Road Course at ‘The Rock’ FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE CONTACT: Charles Hudson 910-205-8800 ROCKINGHAM, N.C. (February 24, 2009) – For the first time in history, the Allison Legacy Series will start the season at the historic Rockingham Speedway with Saturday’s road course race on the .625 configuration that uses the infield and part of the one-mile oval. Seventeen teams used an open test session to get used to the race track and get their cars dialed into the fast road course. One of the drivers participating in the test session was Tyler Speers who is no stranger to Rockingham Speedway. The 18 year old driver raced in the Inaugural Polar Bear 150 at the speedway to start the race season and he will now race on the road course this weekend. “The Polar Bear race was awesome, it was the first superspeedway race I have been in and the first race for the street stock I built,” said Speers. When asked if he had an advantage because of his Rockingham experience he laughingly said, “Not really because this is a road course. We do use some of the same track but we are going backwards through it.” “We went out today on 200 lap tires and the car was pretty good. I just changed my line and where I shift and got the lap times down to 43.7’s.” Speers recorded a 33rd place finish in a field of 70 cars in his first superspeedway start at the Polar Bear 150 and will look to improve that this weekend during the Allison Legacy race as well as July 4th when the Frank Kimmel Street Stock Series returns for the Cherry Bomb 200. Former Allison Legacy Series race winner, Ryan Glenski tested for the upcoming race but he did not run nearly as many laps as his competitors. Glenski spent most of the day driving on ‘Little Rock’ during the Fast Track High Performance Driving School for developmental drivers. Glenski was one of several young drivers driving an ARCA RE/MAX Series car on the ½ mile oval during the Fast Track driving school. During the school’s lunch break he managed to squeeze in a few laps in the Allison Legacy car on the road course test session that happened to be going on at the same time. “It was a good day, I came here just to get some experience and I got a lot of laps and made some pit stops so it was a great experience,” said Glenski of his laps in the ARCA car. “I kept picking up [speed] every time I went out so at the end of the day I think it went very well.” Glenski already is on the Rockingham Speedway wall of winners thanks to his win in a Bandolero car in January of 2008. Will his experience on the Rockingham’s road course help? “Definitely. When we come back next week, I think we will have a good shot at it [the Allison Legacy win].” Fans can watch the race for free from ‘Thunder Alley’ – the best viewing area for the infield road course. Fans can also purchase garage pass to get a close-up view of the action from the garage area for the race. Among the drivers that have used the Allison Legacy Series to advance their driving careers are: Brian Vickers, David Ragan, Jon Wood, Regan Smith, Eric Darnell, Kelly Bires and Joey Logano. For more information about the Allison Legacy Series or the upcoming Carolina 200 please contact the speedway at (910) 205-8800 or visit our website at www.rockinghamspeedway.com.

POSTED 2-3-09 IOFS NEWS!

IOFS BREAKS THE ICE AT CIRCLE TRACK EXPO Indianapolis , IN - Saturday January 31, 2009 - With temperatures outside freezing and snow piled up the new International Outlaw Figure 8 Series didn't let the weather slow them down. Representatives from the newly formed IOFS participated in Saturday's Indy Circle Track Expo with a booth that featured the 2009 car that will be driven by Series Director Charlie Hargraves. Series owners David Sink and Charlie Hargraves were also present to greet fans. The IOFS was on hand to pass out schedules to fans and educate people just exactly IOFS has to offer short track fans around the Indianapolis area. Over the course of the day several hundred schedules were handed out to excited fans new and old. Series officials spent much of the day being interviewed by the Indy Circle Track Expo PA team as well as several auto racing media outlets. "There is huge interest in this series right now" explained Sink. That was very clear by the media coverage we received today and the huge amount of schedules we handed out". Several notable IOFS supporters stopped by to say hi including Plymouth promoter, Tom Smith, and 2008 Plymouth Speedway track champion, Steve Stacy. Smith and Stacy were on hand to check out th e IOFS cars up close. Stacy will be competing with IOFS each time they visit Plymouth in 2009. Also seen hanging out at the IOFS booth were Gary Mong and Steve Little of Anderson Speedway. Both Mong and Little explained that interest is high for the three IOFS appearances at Anderson Speedway in 2009. Another IOFS supporter who stopped by was JR Rouse of www.race8.com along with several drivers who have expressed an interest in running in 2009 with IOFS. Rich Fenwick, Johnny Hargraves, Bruce Mcfall, Jeff Swinford, Johnny Magee, Donnie Scurry, Jeff Hizer and Chuck Rogers were just a handful of the drivers seen chatting with Hargraves and Sink at the busy IOFS display. Also on hand was freelance columnist Tom Botas of MidAmerican Auto Racing News, www.luvracin.com, and www.racestarpublications.com. Botas was present to help draw interest in the IOFS fan club that series officials will unveil the details of very soon. Botas is helping get the fan club started and has asked fans to help give ideas as to what the fan club could offer. IOFS officials also announced that another date has been put on the 2009 schedule. The series will visit Rockford , IL on June 28 in a double header weekend that also sees the series visits Slinger Super Speedway in Slinger, WI one day earlier. The date is listed as tentative right now until the purse details are finalized. Overall IOFS officials were extremely excited at the response they received at the Indy Circle Track Expo. Many fans have expressed interest in following the series in 2009 as well as several notable drivers. Several contacts were also made which should strengthen the series for years to come as the IOFS heads into its first season. The IOFS was also quick to point out that several people played a huge part in making the show a success. “If it wasn't for Lawrence Towing our display wouldn’t have been possible and we are grateful for that" explained Hargraves. "Chris and Mark Eads Jr. helped get our display car safely to the show and I would highly recommend Lawrence Towing to anyone as they are very professional and prompt, so once again a huge thanks to them".
