POSTED 11-24-08 INTERNATIONAL OUTLAW FIGURE-8 SERIES UPDATE

IOFS GETS DIRTY IN 2009Indianapolis, IN - November 19, 2008 - International Outlaw Figure 8 Series (IOFS) officials announced today that the series plans to visit Montpelier Motor Speedway in 2009.The newly formed Outlaw Figure 8 series will be competing at the scenic Central Indiana 1/4 mile, slightly banked dirt oval three times in 2009. With this announcement the IOFS will now be competing on dirt as well as asphalt in 2009. If a driver is to become the inaugural IOFS champion they must prove to be extremely versatile."Montpelier Motor Speedway promoter, Tim Tygart, was looking for something radically different and I think we will fit his needs" IOFS series director Charlie Hargraves explains. "Although there isn't a Figure 8 course at the track yet one will be constructed in time for our 2009 visits. The way the track is to be constructed it should make for an incredible track. The track is going to be very wide with multiple grooves and I think very forgiving to some of our dirt beginners" stated Hargraves.Although dirt will be a new experience to many of the IOFS regulars these type of cars have competed on dirt Figure 8 tracks before. Between 1992 - 1994 the now defunct General Tire Figure 8 Challenge Series competed at a hand full of dirt venues in KY, IN, and TN. The cars adapted very well and made for great racing. But it hasn't been attempted since the last General Tire dirt race at Putnamville, IN on July 6, 1994 in an event won by Rick Fenwick.Once the race dates for the three Montpelier events are confirmed they will be posted on www.figure8news and on the soon to be launched official IOFS website.IOFS managing partner David Sink expressed his excitement with the announcement today." I really think this is what Outlaw Figure 8 racing needs to boost interest and attract new fans. I can’t wait to see our guys on the dirt". Sink also updated the progress of the 2009 IOFS schedule to date."There is going to be another huge announcement regarding our schedule and 2009 events in the next week or so as things are really starting to take shape and we should be able to release our full 2009 schedule with confirmed dates very shortly”.For more information or sponsorship opportunities contact Charlie Hargraves (317) 445 - 4366 or David Sink (765) 278- 8231Charlie Hargraves - charlie74p@aol.comDavid Sink - MRLITTLE500@aol.com
