Lamastus wrecks hard at the SoKY Fairground Front Wheel Drive Figure-8

 Photos Courtesy of Jason Turner

Story by Jason Turner - Kevin Lamastus was very lucky tonight. He was leading the $800 feature figure 8 at the fair tonight, when he flipped coming out of turn two. The Second place car hit him right in the roof on his way to the ground and right on the driver side of the car. It happened right in front of me and it looked like the car hit Kevin and I was really worried that he may have been hurt bad. But he walked away, after several minutes to get him out.

STOCK CAR DRIVER HITS THE WALL HARD.....

Photos Courtesy of PBO Media Productions

After several weeks of no stock car racing, it turned out wild.  Monday evening 5-31-10 car owner Lee Alford of Edmonson County saw his car hit the wall coming out of turn four then flips it around and hits the outside wall driver side.  Driver David Jessie James also of Edmonson, County was knock out while the throttle was hung wide open.  James was taken by Medical Center EMS to the Medical Center of Bowling Green.  A source did tell me today that James is home and very sore.  He was going back to the doctor today for more check ups.  James lost a tooth or two, hurt his leg and has pain in his rib cage area.  Get well soon David, from all the racers and fans.

POSTED 7-6-09 RICHARD "DOODLE" DICKENS WRECKED IN THE X OF THE IOFS RACE AT ANDERSON SPEEDWAY IN INDIANA

Hey Odell, here are some pics from Anderson. These pics were not taken by me. I actually stole them from Race8.com members that had them posted. My pics are still on the camera with a dead battery and it is taking forever to charge. I figured you can use these. I know they aren't going to mind. The damage here does not look that bad but it is bad enough that Doodle and Billy Williams (BG Billy Williams) are putting a car together right now so we can make Plymouth this Saturday. I am not 100% sure on this but I think that Doodle still finished 15 even after the wreck. At this point, I do not know where he sits on the overall points but he is still leading the "stocker" points. Going into the Anderson race, he was 7th in overall points. So, still not bad for what he is running against. He has a 4th, 10th and now 15th. Hopefully at Plymouth we can grab another top 10...top 5 would be nice though, lol. Well, as always, I want to thank everyone that helped make this trip possible: Cohron's Mechanical & B&R Racer's Supply....a very special, huge thanks goes out to them!!! C&P Racing, Jerry's Tires & Mufflers, Photos by Odell, Pro Machine. Billy Williams, Jay Parrish and Jerry Cohron have helped tremendously! Doodle or I could never say thank you enough!! I hope everyone that has helped knows that we certainly do appreciate it and hope that one day we can return all the favors! I also want to say thanks to everyone that called, emailed and texted to check on Doodle and for giving/offering their support while he is attempting to finish these next 6 races. Hopefully all the hard work put out by everyone will pay off in the end and Doodle will win that chassis! Only time will tell. Sure do wish y'all could make it to some of these races. It is by far some of the best figure 8 racing I have seen. Not to mention the racing that is taking place in the other classes that run at these tracks. All I can say is "WOW"! The crossover action resulted on or around lap 25 or so. Doodle had made the decision to go behind Magee once Magee had made his way through the "X". The leader, Van Meter, was coming along side of Doodle about the same time Magee was going to cross through. Magee must have suddenly changed his mind once he began to go through because he basically stopped in front of Doodle resulting in Doodle hitting him. After the initial contact with Magee, somehow Doodle took a shot right behind the driver's door from someone else. The damage to the car caused the throttle to hang and Doodle was headed straight toward the wall. Luckily, he got the car shut down before anymore damage could occur. The end result: two torn up race cars. More importantly, both Doodle and Magee are ok. POSTED 8-24-08 LUCAS OIL SERIES FIRE AND SAFETY CREWS DO A GOOD JOB AT BEECH BEND RACEWAY

As a photographer and a former stock car driver let me start by saying this. There were hundreds of drag cars at Beech Bend Raceway this weekend from all over the states. With that being said, sometimes thing happen that you don't what to happen. As I was on the starting line shooting pictures, I most always watch toward the next car coming up. And that is what I was doing, when I heard the tires and crowd react to a wreck at the finishing line of the quarter mile track. I was most impressed with the Lucas Oil Series Fire and safety crews along with Beech Bend Raceway crew. Almost before the cars got stopped the fire and safety crew was on the track and there. I give them a big thumb's up! I am also happy to report that both drivers walked away. That says something to the safety of NHRA. I think the only real hurt to both drivers was their feelings. So, in my final thoughts, who said Stock Car drivers are the only ones to crash and put on a show. See you at another drag event. If you see me with the Photos by Odell shirt on, give me a shout. See ya Fans!
