Top story lines from this weekend stock car races.

First, it was late model driver #98 Mason Mingus.  Mason was involved in several spins which according to rules would put him in the rear.  However, Mason on more than one ocassion refused to go to the rear.  This prompted the Beech Bend Raceway officials to give him the black flag and send him to the pits.  I don't know what was going on with mason and his crew.  I'm sure there was a reason that Mason didn't restart in the rear.

Second, the Mason twins.  These two kids are the sons of Figure-8 driver Mike Mason.  I didn't see everything that happened on the track but did see one of the twins get into it with the #43 car during the front runner figure-8.  Then the Mason kid hits the #43 car head on.  This was crazy!

Next, the x15 of Van Washer in the street modified race tangles with #69 Rita Cline.  But when the race is over Van Washer uses his car to push #67 of Mark Thompson off the track.  I was told that one of the officials warned x15 Van Washer about rough driving in the pits.  Van Washer x15 was not back on Sunday.

On Sunday it was more of the same.  The sportsman race was CRAZY!  There was so much action, I am not sure what was really going on out there on the track.  It was #99 of Robert Cohron leading the race with a much improved car of Daymond Long #28 on his rear bumper.  Daymond was driving hard for his first win when he drove into turn three a little too hard and hit the #99 of Cohron and spun both cars.  Which set up the next story.  Daniel Young in the #6 stopped to keep from hitting these two cars and #84 of Joe Reynolds passes the #6.  But as the rules state after a yellow comes out you go back to the previous lap.  That would have put #84 Joe Reynolds in behind #6 and in second place.  Apparently, Joe didn't see it that way.  Then the officials tell Joe to get back in line and Joe does not.  At one point Joe drives his car by a Beech Bend official at a unsafe speed and appears to surve toward the official.  Then Joe goes to to the front stretch and stops in front of the flag stand.  The flagman warns him to get back in line or off the track.  At that point Reynolds just sat there.  The PA announcer tells him and his crew that the wrecker is about to be dispatch to the track to tow him off.  Like I said it was a crazy weekend of racing.

Oh, I almost forgot the Sammy Sanders, Davey Coble and Mason Mingus deal on Friday night.  During the second late model race on lap 39 Sammy spins #98 Mason Mingus.  To set this story up let me tell you this.  Davey Coble #14 was leading the race at lap 39 of 50 laps.  Mason Mingus #98 was in second and Sammy Sanders #12 was third.  Sammy tagged the #98 with only 11 laps to go.  The rules are very clear.  If this had happen at the start of the race and lap one had not been completed then all cars go back to there starting spot.  But after one lap has been completed then any and all cars involved in a spin goes to the rear.  Therefore on lap 39 the #12 of Sanders and #98 of Mingus should have restarted in the rear.  With 20 cars in the field would have made it easier for the #14 of Coble to win and probably would have won this race. Hold on, let me say for #12 Sanders, he did on his own go to the rear.  The #98 of Mingus did not.  We went for several minutes and then the call comes across the BBR radios that #12 of Sanders and #98 of Mingus go back to second and third spots.  This really got Jerry Coble upset (Jerry is the owner of the #14).  Let me say, I don't blame Sanders or Mingus for starting back in second and third or Sanders winning.  The call was blown by the officials in my opinion.  In closing of this story, I will say we all make mistakes and I feel BBR or Ken-Ten made a big one.  Maybe the next time the favor will go to the Coble's.  Anyway enough on this lets move on.

NOTE: I AM IN NO WAY FOR OR AGAINST ANY DRIVER, OFFICIAL, TRACK OR FAN.  I SIMPLY REPORT RACING NEWS AND RUMORS.  IF YOU WANT TO EXPLAIN YOUR POINT OF VIEW PLEASE MAKE A COMMENT UNDER THIS STORY. The mason part in the late model was a stupid act on him for not going to the rear MULTIPLE times, he earned the black flag, actually he should of got black flagged way earlier in the race when he started that. The Mason twins just put the show on which is a good thing. Thats just brother love rite there Friday night. The 43 always seem to push there cars around and he got it that time. BBR did made a big mistake like you said Odell on Friday in the 2nd feature of the KEN-TEN, They should of put Sammy and mason back up front bc they knew there wasn't a lap completed yet. The act 84 of Joe Reynolds made was very uncalled for, NEVER do you swerve or put an official in danger no matter how mad you get at them.I bet that official is tired of all that bc hes the same one that put up with mason miginus's acts..Odell that official should of got the hard charger award.
Huge BBR fan.

I think what happened between the Masons and the #43 was silly, if you can't take being bumped then don't race its plain and simple.

Hey I just wanted to let you know I saw the 67 car hit the x15 car after the race while leaving the track before x15 pushed him off the track. I have no idea what happened during the race I was really surprised to see 67 hit x15. Just wanted to let you know what I saw. Jason

Well I want to say I was sitting in the stands in the pits and the 99 was getting lose in turn 3 for a few laps and he got a little to wide and the 28 car stuck his car down under him and was up past his door and the hole closed up causing the spin and I dont pull for either one of those car but I like both of those guys. So Odell I don't no where u was but I don't think you saw everything clearly cause in my opinion the 28 car had the line but that's what happens when you get hard racing like that just my opinion. Thanks
