Dillon Oliver To Make First Truck Series Start at Martinsville Mar 3rd, 2009 Cornelius, NC - 19 year old Bowling Green, KY native, Dillon Oliver, is set to make his NASCAR Camping World Truck Series debut at Martinsville Speedway on March 28th, 2009. While his start behind the wheel of the #89 Lafferty Motorsports Chevrolet marks his first start in one of NASCAR’s top three series, he is no stranger to the thrills of racing. A look back at a career that started when he was only 10 years old reveals a young man with skill beyond his years. Oliver has 175 starts in four different types of race cars. In those 175 starts he has amassed 75 wins, 157 top-ten finishes, 21 pole awards, and 7 championships. This would be a proud record for a driver of any age, let alone a 19 year old. His climb to the top started with open-wheeled karts in the Kentucky Karting Association where he finished 2nd in points in his first season. He then progressed to Mini-Cup Cars in the MMRA Series where he won the track championship at Beech Bend Raceway in both 2000 and 2001. In 2003-2004 Oliver made the leap to legend cars in the Semi-Pro division. Competing in races within the KY, IN, OH, and TN areas Dillon managed to win an astonishing 38 races and 5 Championships on the local, state, regional and national levels. Since 2005 Dillon has found himself at home behind the wheel of late models both locally and as a part of the ASA Southern Division Tour. Oliver continues to impress with every progressive step he makes in the racing world.
