POSTED 1026-08 CHUCK BARNES, SR. #5 TAKES ANOTHER WIN IN THE HALLOWEEN 200

As seen here in these photos, Chuck Barnes, Sr. takes the win at Salem Speedway in the Halloween 200 on Sunday 26, 2008. The radio station was shown here in victory circle doing the post race interview with Chuck. Brian Bayer #99 ran a hard charging second for most of the closing laps, but got caught up in some traffic and lost that spot to Brain Hopkins #95. Bayer finishes fifth with Hopkins taking second. The Bowling Green guys didn't fair as well. Richard "Doodle" Dickens #85 started 45th and was caught up in a wreck, not of his fault. It pretty much stopped his chance to finish up front. Doodle did get his crew to repair his car enough to run laps at a slower pace. Dickens did manage to take the checker flag. Kevin LaMastus #29 didn't fair very good as well. Kevin started 61st and was moving up but on lap 33 blew an engine. As a photographer and blogger from Bowling Green, KY. I was very proud of the effort of both Bowling Green guys. Maybe next year? Good Job Chuck Barnes, Sr.!
__________________________________________
NOTE: I WILL POST MORE HALLOWEEN PHOTOS LATER UPDATE
UNOFFICIAL RESULTS
Richard "Doodle" Dickens finished 32nd
Kevin LaMastus finished 49th

POSTED 10-21-08 AND WHO SAID THAT DRAG RACING IS BORING? JUST ASK MEL

Mel Baute from Northern, Kentucky near Cincinnati, OH. will tell you that drag racing can be very exciting. Saturday, October 18, I was out on the track at Beech Bend Raceway as I do most every weekend. This was during the 1st Annual Good Guys event. As I was snapping photo after photo, all of a sudden, up comes Mel. I was looking through the view finder as always. With one eye I see a BIG wheel and tire pop off the driver side rear of this car, but I hold my position and keep snapping. Then with that one eye I see two eyes looking back at me through a windshield. It was Mel's and I'm thinking, hey something just ain't right with this picture. I kept pulling the trigger on my camera and got some wild shot's. Thanks to Mel. I know Mel would have just as soon I never got that shot. Anyway, good luck to Mel and his crew.

If there is anyone interested in helping out on sponsorship, it will be greatly appreciated! Not to mention anyone interested in helping in the pits. They would be more than welcomed! We look forward to having BG fans in the stands, so everyone available to come up and watch a great race should make a point to be there. POSTED 10-16-08 THIS WAS A FEW LAPS BEFORE THE BIG WRECK!

Both the #14 Davey Coble and #55 Thomas Purnell go at it hard!

POSTED 10-16-08 THE LATE MODEL WRECK AT HIGHLAND RIM ON SATURDAY 10-4-08

Davey Coble #14 and Thomas Parnell #55 are running one and two in the beginning of the late model race. They are racing very hard. Door to door and bump, bump. Then it all goes crazy. Listed below are a series of photos of this wreck. As a good photographer, part of it is being in the right place at the right time. I was in turn three and four, which made me be in that place to get good shots. I hope you enjoy reading and seeing them.

POSTED 10-16-08 PART TWO OF THE WRECK!

This is the start of the #14 Davey Coble hitting the wall.

POSTED 10-16-08 AND PART THREE OF THE WRECK!

Now the #14 hits the wall in the middle of turn three and four. Davey Coble then comes to rest on the inside wall of turns three and four. This all just before the meeting of the two teams in the infield. (next post)

POSTED 10-16-08 AND LAST, ALL YOU KNOW WHAT BREAKS OUT!!!

As the wreck comes to an end in turn three and four. The battle begins in the infield. Both parties of car #14 and #55 are upset with the other. The good news is no one got hurt. And it was somewhat fun to watch.

First, I would like to thank Cindy Pike, owner of the Sportsdrome Speedway along with her brother and family. Cindy was a very nice person to met. I have a link to their race track on my side bar, so please check them out. Again, thanks Cindy and I hope you all the luck in the world! Odell Turner

This is a photo that I shot of Driver Richard "Doodle" Dickens and his car owner for 2008 season, Jerry Cline. (NOTE: this car is the "ROCKET" and is owned by Richard "Doodle" Dickens, not Jerry Cline) Doodle and Jerry along with others were pushing his car into starting position. Doodle started 23rd of 37 cars and at one time we think he was in 9th place. Doodle lost the his rear end as he seen his chance to place good go up in smoke along with the rear end. You did great Doodle. Bowling Green was proud of you!
