POSTED 6/2/07 RESULTS OF THE FIGURE-8
Race Friday 6-1-07 Results of Figure-8 Class, Ricky Dickens in the #28 finds his self a win. Coming in 2nd was the #34 of Dennis "Zoomie" Oliver, 3rd was the #7 of J.J. Schweizer, 4th was the #M1 of Mike Mason, 5th was the #77 of Ricky Johnson, 6th was the #33 of Jerry Hendrixson, and 7th was #96 of Kevin Dickens. Congratulation Ricky Dickens!

take the wings off that28car and put a steel or fiberglass roof on it and that should equal it out w/everyone else until this happens nobody will out run him unless he breaks down
so why did wildman loose his ride?
i bring my son to beech bend to watch the 28 in the figure 8 if he removes the wings we will not be back if you have a problem with the wings then put them on all of the figure 8 cars
THERE HAS BEEN MORE CARS THAN JUST THE 28 THAT HAS RAN AT BEECH BEND WITH WINGS AND THOSE CARS HAVE BEEN BEAT. IT IS NOT ALL ABOUT THE WINGS...TRUST ME. WITH OR WITHOUT THE WINGS THE 28 IS A BETTER CAR THAN MOST OUT THERE AND THE WINGS DO NOT HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH IT. WHILE THE OTHERS ARE SPINNING ACROSS THE "X", SLIDING IN THE CORNORS, ETC. THE 28 IS AS SMOOTH AS ICE. BEECH BEND IS NOT THAT BIG OF A TRACK SO THE WINGS WILL NOT PLAY A FACTOR. I AM SURE IF YOU ASK 28 TO BORROW HIS WINGS TO SEE IF THEY HELP YOU, HE WILL LET YOU. HE IS A VERY NICE GUY. YOU CAN GO TO SPORTSDROME AND SEE THAT THEY DON'T RUN THE WINGS ON A WEEKLY BASIS..ONLY FOR THIER BIG EVENTS AND THEY WILL TELL YOU THE SAMETHING...THEY DON'T HELP YOU. THEY ARE FOR LOOKS AND A PLACE FOR ADVERTISMENT FOR SPONSORS.
take them off for a race and lets see the wings wouldnt be on the car if they dont work!rear down force coming up off the corners side bite while rollin thru the corners so yes they do help take them off that car looses 2maybe3 tenths
all I have to say is there is no rule in the rule book saying you cannot run wings, all the other figure 8 drivers are free to put them on three cars
it is not going to do any good to tell the 28 to take the wings off. there are not any rules saying that he can not run them. the only way you are going to get the wings off is to tell dallas and see where that goes or just simply challenge him to take them off and see how that goes. if 28 is confindent in his driving and his car without wings then he will take them off.
i think he is afraid to take them off...he is afraid he might get beat. without the wings and/or the car...he is nothing

i no ricky for a long time and raced with ricky back in the 1980 something. he had no wings then and won more races than some of you young figure-8 drivers may ever win. and ricky never had wings then. could it bee that ricky is a very good driver? i beat him sometimes and he spank by butt many times. i am not trying to start nothing and i am new to this computer stuff. my friend had to get on here for me and help me look at this deal. seeing them give ricky a hard time about wings on a short track like beach bend is insane. i go to the races when my health lets me and you guys seem to all be good racers. i have one question be getting off here. if it is his wings what happen the last few year when you drivers let that kid they call dodle spank your butts he had no wings. wings or no wings it just sounds like you all need to work as hard on your cars as you do worrying about wings. by the way like like all of you. my favor is that guy they call wildman. we miss him. good luck to all my fellow 8 guys. from the ole man from the 8.

UH he is no ANGEL and he does have a good car but he definently has an advantage w/roof wing and sidewings where that car came from it runs in a class w/cars that are just like it not cars like M1,85,6,7.etc...they would run them together if there was no difference.LOOSE THE WINGS
for your information ricky went to the drivers meeting and spoke to dallas jones and the other track officals about the car and all drivers were present and dallas said that the car was legal so he could drive it with the wings if the wings are the problem them put them on your car
i never heard so much complaining about one driver in all my life why wasnt all this complaining going on when butch winters and arite b ware ran at beach bend when they kick everyones butt and by the way thats the same roof that came off arite's car

the reason that wildman is out of a ride is because bubbio got tired of catering to him he also has two cars of his own that he could put together so if you are worried about wildman i'm sure that he would be ready to take advantage of you as well so call him up
I think that all the cars should put those quaterpanel wings on... they look cool anyways

cryin goes on in every racin div. put an a couple of fenders and a nose,roof and run it as sportsman or modified s. and people will still be cryin.
I was wondering the samething as stated in one other comment. Why are people just now complaining about Ricky and his wings? Butch, Artie and others ran with wings well before Ricky did and nothing was said. One blogger said "because Odell didn't have a website." That is insane. There didn't have to be a website for anyone to voice their opinion of their cars. Everyone that was concerned about those cars had several oppurtunities available to say whatever it was that may have been bothering them. The rules were not changed when they were running and they probably aren't gonna be changed now. All I know that is required,is you must weigh no more than 3000 lbs and run a "street tire" no bigger than p23515. Nothing to say about body, motor, wings or not. Guys, there is not much you can do about getting beat except "DO YOUR HOMEWORK". There were times when I would see Doodle get so frustrated with his car he would want to throw his hands up and forget about it. BUT, he did his homework, worked on the car to make it faster, did what he had to do to improve his driving skills, remained patient and calm and drove the best race he could. The end result? 4 time figure 8 championship. And he did it without wings. It is not all about the wings. You say that you are not going to win unless you got wings then how did Doodle do it? Ricky drove, at that time, our "big car" and won races. He did not have wings. Wildman won races in the 98 car, he did not have wings. Mike Mason put the M1 in victory lane without wings. So, what I am trying to say, is IT CAN BE DONE!!!!! You have to stop spending your time on the computer and get into the garage. That will win races.
I agree with ANG85, the wings dont have a thing to with winning or loosing the race. Sounds like you need to start turning wrenches and quit working your jaws and maybe, just maybe your can be out front. I bet I can put Ricky in my car and he will still be in the top 3. And I'm sure some of you guys know what car I'm talking about. All in all, it is not the car as much as it is the DRIVER!!

IF I AM RIGHT, I THINK TWISTED DAVE'S CAR IS ONE THAT HAS BEEN RACED IN THE F8 FOR A FEW YRS NOW AND HAS BEEN TO VICTORY LANE MANY, MANY TIMES. I AM NOT 100% SURE THOUGH. I JUST HAVE A HUNCH.
i dont think it is the wings on the 28 that makes it run so well, if a few of the 8 cars didnt have to much motor under the hood then the car and them wouldnt wine so much they might could run with the wings.
OK FOLKS, LISTEN UP! LETS PRETEND THAT A "REGULAR" CAR. LET'S SAY ONE LIKE THE 85, M1, 34, 7...JUST YOUR EVERYDAY FIGURE 8 CAR BEGAN DOMINATING THE CLASS WEEKLY. THIS SAID CAR MET ALL RULES FOR THE 8 DIVISION, HAD WHAT SOME CONSIDER A REGULAR BODY, A BASIC SET UP AND NO WINGS. LET'S SAY THAT THIS CAR QUALIFIED 1ST WEEKLY AND FINISHED FIRST WEEKLY. OK, EVENTUALLY THE FELLOW DRIVERS ARE NOT GOING TO LIKE IT AND THE FANS WILL GET TIRED OF SEEING IT HAPPEN. BUT, WHAT WOULD YOU DO? WHAT COULD YOU DO? THE CAR IS LEGAL FOR THAT DIVISION AND THE DRIVER IS APPARENTLY DOING A GOOD JOB. SO, THE QUESTION IS, WOULD THERE STILL BE AS MUCH CONCERN OVER THAT CAR AS THERE IS THE 28 CAR? IT WOULD BE THE SAME SITUATION JUST DIFFERENT DRIVER AND CAR. WOULD ALL THIS HOOPLA BE GOING ON? IN MY OPINION "YES" B/C GETTING BEAT PERIOD IS A HARD PILL FOR SOME TO SWOLLOW. BUY YA KNOW, IN RACING YOU WILL WIN SOME AND LOOSE SOME, THAT IS JUST THE WAY IT GOES. EVERYONE NEEDS TO LOOSEN UP A BIT, HAVE FUN RACING AND TRY TO MAKE BEECH BEND A PLACE WHERE PEOPLE ACTUALLY WANT TO COME AND RACE. THIS IS WHY EVERYONE HAS DISAPPEARED. THE FANS AND THE DRIVERS. TOO MUCH HOOPLA.
times have changed at BBR since i was a kid i remember back when there would be 20to25 F8 cars w/some tuff drivers johnny watkins,ruben lancaster,billy macdaniels ,gw deathride, sub waddle,wayne jones,and the list goes on and on and those guys turned times anywheres from 19.70 to20.20 a lot faster. my point is spend some $$$ on new springs,shocks,swaybars,get your handlin together and u will out run the winged car.your cars are a lot closer stlyes of cars like the drivers i mentioned earlier they where quicker thru the corners than u guys are now buy those 3 things u start picking up 2,3 tenths..........but those wings diffenently help!!!to say those wings dont help thats like sayin donnie self dont need ahair cut and shave. just kinding.they wouldnt be there if they dont help.i'm not hatin on the 28 but every body else spend$$$ thats how u out run the wings
