POSTED 6/13/07 RICHARD "DOODLE" DICKENS AND ERIC "BUBBIO" JOHNSON ORDEAL!
Let me start by saying that Doodle and Bubbio are both friends of mine. For you that was not at Beech Bend test night, last night (Tuesday 6/12) to bring you up to speed with the gossip and story. This is what I either saw or was told, it may not all be right. I saw Doodle hit Bubbio and Bubbio hit the ground. Bubbio appeared to be knocked out. I saw his head hit the blacktop very hard. I was told that Doodle hit him from behind first, however I did not see that. I also was told that Bubbio and Ricky Dickens was having a few words, then Doodle hit Bubbio. I was not there and don't know. I was standing a few feet away. I did hear Doodle and Dennis "Zoomie" Oliver have some hard words for each other. Bubbio had a knot and cut with blood on the back of his head and I and other's tried to get him to go to the hospital to be checked out, but he didn't. I thought a lot about this last night and today, as to post or not. I have had calls about this ordeal. After a lot of thought, decided to make my comments. Racers and Fans let me share this with you. I start this site because I love stock car racing and wanted to help promote racing and YOU the driver along with your sponsor's. Get more people to come to Beech Bend, Highland Rim and etc.. to watch YOU race. I DO NOT PROMOTE things like this, but report news as it happens off and on the track. I know that fans come to watch cars race and also love to see a driver or two get into it with one another. But there has to be a line to be drawn. I hope Doodle and Bubbio don't get mad at me for this story and hope that the comments you all post are sensible. Last let me share this story, which by the way is true. Back a few years ago a racer and very good friend of mine, got mad at a man that he competed with each week. They had words then it came to fist fling. My friend Joe hit this guy and he fell to the ground (Much like Bubbio did) and he hit his head. The blow from the fist didn't do that much damage but the unexpected blacktop almost killed the man, long story short, Joe the racer got 5 years in jail. DO YOU WANT THIS TO HAPPEN TO YOU? I think not! We as racers need to learn to stop take a deep breath and count to 10 before we react. It takes a bigger man to walk away than to succumb to fighting! i am sure that there is more to this than what meets the eye. i am not saying that what is written is true or false, i was not there. i do know that doodle is not as bad a person as this portrays him to be. there is a reason why bubbio packed a black eye a few weeks ago and now this. maybe he is the common demoninator? the ol sayin "cant we all just get along" isnt that easy. i just hate that this happened
from bubbio i will tell you the whole story of the matter ricky thinks that i am the reason that he got disqualified friday night and he took my bussiness name off of his car and i ask him why and he told me so he could get a sponsor that would pay money and i got my feelings hurt and he was getting ready to leave and i walked over to his van window and told him that i wanted my carb. and intake that i had given him back for his air unit that he had given me and he said that the carb. was no longer on his car and i ask him why he had a problem with me and he said because i was supposed to have gotten them to weight his car friday night when he got disqualifed and god above knows that the last person on earth that i would do something like that to would be ricky because when i was a kid ricky and diane my aunt was like a mom and dad to me. i didn't know that they were going to weigh cars friday night because when tony rothe came to weight my car monday night i was 40lbs. light.and the rest of the story i have no ideal why doodle ran up behind me while me and ricky were arguing and hit me in the back of the head i had no ideal he was behind me because i thought that me and doodle were good friends i even offered to let doodle wheel my car in the 8 this yeaer that's how much i thought of doodle and he told me he didn't know what he was going to do at that point so when me and wildman parted ways i ask dennis zoomie oliver to drive my car because i have been watching him race since 1988.and to end the story if you call hitting a man in the back of the head whipping his ass then i guess i got my ass whipped tuesday night but i will take a rematch anytime

from bubbio i ask bobby tuesday if i was supposed to have weighted my car after they found ricky light and he said no if you want to know any more than that you will have to ask someone at the track
I'm not on here taking sides on this matter cause I was not there, I just want to voice my opinion on this matter.
I have known Doodle for several years and I will everyone on here that he is not the kind of person that will come and hit someone from behind. Sorry people, say what you want, but I know BETTER!!
If you remember from a few weeks ago, Doodle was one of the guys trying to seperate Bubboi, Steve, Wayne Sr, and Mike when a argument started in the pits over a car and a few other stupid reasons. There were some punches and Bubbio did recieve a slight hit to his eye, but did anyone see Do throw a punch?? Hell NO!! From what I seen that Bubbio is a loaded cannon with a short fuse waiting for the first spark to go bang!
I will be the first to say that NOBODY at BBR is perferct and things will happen, but lets get the full details on what really happened from the ones that were there and quit assuming and making up things to get more trouble stirred up. Lets leave the DRAMA on tv, and lets have some good, clean fun on the track! I'm sorry if this makes anyone mad, but this is just my point of view!!
JUST LOVE READING ALL THE NEWS AT BBR. I'M LIKE TWISTED DAVE, THERE HAD TO BE A REASON THAT DOODLE HIT BUBBIO. AND I ALSO AGREE THAT IF RICKY GOT DISQUALIFIED FOR WEIGHT THAN BUBBIO SHOULD HAVE TOO. IT SEEMS THAT THEY HAVE THEIR FAVORITES AND THEY ARE GOING TO TRY TO MAKE SURE THEY WIN NO MATTER WHAT. WHERE IS THE COMPETITION ANYMORE. THAT WAS THE FUN. REMEMBER ALL THE STREET CARS WE HAD. WELL, SOMEONE ELSE HAS TO WIN, NOT THE SAME ALL THE TIME. THATS THE PART THAT THAT GETS THE HEART PUMPING WHEN YOU HAVE CARS SIDE BY SIDE AND RIGHT BEHIND EACH OTHER. Everything that Bubbio explained in his comment is true until the point of Doodle hitting him in the back of the head. I was leaving the track when Bubbio came to the drivers side window and wanted his carb and intake back after I traded an ac for them. He was angry that I removed Johnson's Lawn Care from my car. We began to have some words over the situation. I told Bubbio to leave the pit area that I didn't want to discuss it one or more times. He chose to stay and continue arguing over it. I opened that van door to get out and Doodle grabbed Bubbio and pushed him and told him he needed to go on. Bubbio said something or started to say something and Doodle hit him. After that I just tried to calm Doodle down. I have no reason to take sides with anyone one driver or car owner out there because I am kin to too many. Both Doodle and Bubbio are my nephews, Rita Cline is my neice, Brain Cherry is my cousin, Kevin Dickens is my son and Kyle Naftel is my son-in-law. I want there to be peace as much as anybody. I don't like what happened and I don't agree with the situation but it is over and done with now. What else can you do? At this point, forget about it and go racing. I am.
Iam Bubbios girlfriend if you were not there you can not asume what went on if your last name is not DICKENS to RICKY in that family the JOHNSON name means nothing to him.When Doodle saw Bubbio and Ricky arguing he ran up behind Bubbio and hit him in the back of the head.When you have two family members on opposite sides you want to try to get along with both of them.

DOODLE DOES NOT WORK IN AN OFFICE OR HAVE ACCESS TO A COMPUTER DURING THE DAY OR AT HOME. THEREFORE DOODLE HAS NOT HAD A CHANCE TO MAKE ANY COMMENTS REGARDING THE SITUATION. from bubbio i just want to let all of you know that me and doodle talked this afternoon like two grown men about what happened tuesday night and doodle told me that he was sorry about what happened and both of us agreed that we were too good of friends to let something like this miss up a friendship this goes to show you that real friends can have disagrements and still be friends
