POSTED 6/11/07 ONE OF THE BIG STORIES FROM FRIDAY NIGHT 6/8/07 WAS ABOUT FIGURE-8 DRIVER RICKY "THE WING MAN" DICKENS!
Let me start off by saying, I am only writing about what I hear and see. These stories may not always be true or false. I just happen to be pitted beside Ricky Friday night and when Ricky came back to his pits he was HOT! According to Ricky he was told at some point to add weight to his car and he done so. After finishing 3rd Friday night Beech Bend officials decide to weight the figure-8 cars. Ricky was 104 pounds light. He says that there is NO WAY! When his car was weighted before it was only 20 pounds light, and then Ricky added weight. So Ricky finished 3rd but got out back to last for a light car. Either way, Ricky has said he would add more weight and come back and try to put on a very good show. My support goes out to you Ricky "The Wing Man"! Good luck to you and all the figure-8 drivers!

there is no sense in crying about your car being light because the same thing happened to bo miller last year and he was only 3 pounds light everyone is always happy when there winning and not loosing
i believe the fist comment says, "there is no sense in cryin'"(& so on). i don't know that ricky is the one cryin'. it seems that the ones running the dallas, gary and bobby weekly are the ones cryin'. i am sure ricky will add the weight he was told to add (just like before) and still laugh all the way to the bank.

ITS OK FOR BO MILLER TO BE UNDER HEIGHT RULE BUT WHEN A FIGURE 8 DRIVER ADDS WEIGHT AND IS DISQUALIFIED THEN THERE IS SOMETHING WRONG. BO HAS WON ALL THE LATE MODEL RACES IS DALLAS ASKING HIM TO ADD WEIGHT OR MAKE HIS CAR THE RIGHT HEIGHT.
from bubbio i don't think that if ricky would have known his car was under the weight limit he would have been running out front all year and takin a chance on getting disqualified because i have been around ricky since 1988 and wether he is winning or loosing he is having a good time because he's not like some i know that uses there bill money to race

is it true or just a rumor? i heard that the "rocket man" dickens jr. was coming back to the 8. i hope so. that was one cat that could drive the wheels off one. where ya, man?

I find it strange that Ricky's car was under weight at all the races when it was weighed at the begining of the season with all the others and it was legal then just like everyone else. I know that for a fact cause Ricky and Doodle's car weighed in at the same with the driver in the seat. Ricky is not one to cheat, and has no reason to. He has worked too hard on his car to get where it is at. Like I said before, the WINGS have nothing to with the way the car runs, handles, or finishes in a race. It is 10% car and 90% driver. If you look and ask around he has less of a motor than some of the others in the 8.
So lets stop the crying and enjoy the race.
