First, thanks to the guys at NMRA for allowing me to shoot photos. This was a great event and you should make plans to attend next year. I shot these and more on Saturday 10-4-08 and then left Beech Bend Raceway Park in Bowling Green and headed for Greenbrier, TN. to Highland Rim Speedway for the stock car races. They had 150 Sportsman races which four Bowling Green racers raced in. Look below for more on that event.

That yellow flag was the flag of the night! Action, action, and more action. What a fun night of stock car racing at the fast bank track of Highland Rim Speedway.

POSTED 10-16-08 THIS WAS A FEW LAPS BEFORE THE BIG WRECK!

Both the #14 Davey Coble and #55 Thomas Purnell go at it hard!

POSTED 10-16-08 THE LATE MODEL WRECK AT HIGHLAND RIM ON SATURDAY 10-4-08

Davey Coble #14 and Thomas Parnell #55 are running one and two in the beginning of the late model race. They are racing very hard. Door to door and bump, bump. Then it all goes crazy. Listed below are a series of photos of this wreck. As a good photographer, part of it is being in the right place at the right time. I was in turn three and four, which made me be in that place to get good shots. I hope you enjoy reading and seeing them.

POSTED 10-16-08 PART TWO OF THE WRECK!

This is the start of the #14 Davey Coble hitting the wall.

POSTED 10-16-08 AND PART THREE OF THE WRECK!

Now the #14 hits the wall in the middle of turn three and four. Davey Coble then comes to rest on the inside wall of turns three and four. This all just before the meeting of the two teams in the infield. (next post)

POSTED 10-16-08 AND LAST, ALL YOU KNOW WHAT BREAKS OUT!!!

As the wreck comes to an end in turn three and four. The battle begins in the infield. Both parties of car #14 and #55 are upset with the other. The good news is no one got hurt. And it was somewhat fun to watch.

POSTED 10-13-08 THANKS TO CINDY PIKE AND FAMILY FOR YOUR HOSPITALITY!

First, I would like to thank Cindy Pike, owner of the Sportsdrome Speedway along with her brother and family. Cindy was a very nice person to met. I feel I have a new group of friends to add to my list. The track was very easy to get around and I took a lot of photos. I got to meet the track photographer and she was very kind. I have a link to their race track on my side bar, so please check them out. Again, thanks Cindy and I hope you all the luck in the world! Odell Turner

POSTED 10-13-08 FIVE TIME FIGURE-8 CHAMPION GIVES THE WORLD 300 FIGURE-8 A TRY!

Beech Bend Raceway in Bowling Green, Kentucky has it's five-in-a-roll figure-8 (2004, 2005, 2006, 2007 and 2008) Champion entered in the World 300 at the Sportsdrome, Jeffersonville, IN. This is a photo that I shot of Driver Richard "Doodle" Dickens and his car owner for 2008 season, Jerry Cline. (NOTE: this car is the "ROCKET" and is owned by Richard "Doodle" Dickens, not Jerry Cline) Doodle and Jerry along with others were pushing his car into starting position. Doodle started 23rd of 37 cars and at one time we think he was in 9th place. Doodle lost the his rear end as he seen his chance to place good go up in smoke along with the rear end. You did great Doodle. Bowling Green was proud of you!
