Today we lost a very dear friend and a former stock car driver. Around 12:30 or 1:00 p.m. Charles "Pee Wee" Levings passed away. Pee Wee had battled cancer for sometime now and finally lost that battle. I know I speak for all the racing community by saying our thoughs and prayers go out to the family. May God be with you.

This just in about 8:00 p.m., Beech Bend Raceway Stock Car driver Tony Rothe's mother passed away today. We don't know what time or any other information. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Tony and his entire family. May GOD'S peace be you Tony.

All American Bomber Driver #75 Jason Turner and my son lost his grandmother to cancer. Janice L. McGuffey, 68, of Smiths Grove died at 5:01 a.m. Dec. 19, 2008, at The Medical Center at Bowling Green. Funeral is at 1 p.m. Sunday at Hardy & Son Funeral Home, Bowling Green Chapel. Visitation is from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

POSTED 12-20-08 FORMER DRIVERS HAVE A DEATH IN THE FAMILY.

Clara Mae Miller 72, Mother of former stock car driver David Miller and Grandmother of former stock car driver Billy Grider passed away saturday at the medical center. Visitation will be from 3:00 to 8:00 Monday Dec 22 and 12:00 to 2:00 Tuesday Dec 23 At Glendale Baptist Church. Funeral will be 2:00 tues Dec 23 at Glendale Baptist Church with burial in Fairview Cemetary.

POSTED 11-19-08 RACER'S GRANDMA PASSED AWAY

Bobbie Stancil sent me an email this afternoon telling me that she and Joey are leaving out tonight for Flordia b/c his Grandma passed away. They will not be at the banquet due to her death. She asked that if Janet and Rick are not able to attend in thier place for me to get Joey's check and send congrats to all drivers and thank you's to everyone that helped them and supported them this year. She said for me to make sure that I give a special thanks to Daymon and Tammy for them. I am not sure I want to get on stage and do all that so if you can come up with a little post explaining thier absence, giving thanks and congrats on thier behalf, I would and I am sure they would appreciate it. Eric Johnson, owner of the #34 Figure-8 car had a sad week. Jerri Johnson, Eric's wife loses her sister Penny Wix, 35 on April 23. She battled cancer and finally lost that fight. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the entire family. Rest in Peace Penny.
