One of the biggest topics at the rules meeting.

If you weren't at the drivers meeting then you missed this story.  During the rules meeting for the Front Runners the name Tommy Hoover was brought up more than any rule.  Not every driver but most seem to be more worried about Tommy than a rule change.  Let me take you back in time just in case you weren't at Beech Bend Raceway Park during the 2010 season.  Tommy won most ever race in the oval and even when he started in the rear, which was almost every other week because the winner of the race has to start in the rear next week.  So I can see why these other drivers are worried about Tommy.  In my opinion, I think Tommy is a good driver but don't think it is all in his skills.  I think it is mostly the car.  So if you guys and gals would work harder on your cars then maybe you could beat him.  The Chaffin kid in the #16 beat him, the #11 car beat him, and Josh Wyatt beat him.  In 2011 the rules have changed to having a sell after every race in the middle of the track for $1000 (the whole car less seat and belts)  Tommy didn't like this rule and said he may not be back in 2011 and just park his car and go boating!  I don't think Tommy will give in that easy. I say Tommy will be back and still win his share of races.  Tommy did make it clear that he will be focusing on the Front Runner Figure-8 next year and not the oval.

ATTENTION RACE FANS!

The Full Size Cars are coming back to Beech Bend Raceway Park in 2011.  The rules are the same as the new Street Stock Class.  The above photo shows some of the figure drivers that told Dallas they would build a car and support the figure-8.  Above making a return to the eight is Hard charging "Mike Mason", Front running driver Anthony "WILDMAN" Hudson, Wheel man J.J. Schweicher.  And new to the full size cars are Ryan and Byran Mason.  I am hearing that Matt Melton, Wayne Green, Tommy Lawrence are building eight cars.  Also the big question will 5 in a roll figure champ, Richard "Doodle" Dickens be back?  What about Ricky Dickens? And Kevin Dickens?  And Randy Wells? Also hearing that David Jesse James is building one.  And maybe Jesse Pedigo?

Modified Street Rules Meeting at Beech Bend Raceway Park

Biggest news of the night!  NO MORE MODIFIED STREET CLASS.  It will be know as the new Street class. The rules in 2010 was $2000 to buy the engine. Now the buy rules is $1000.  HOLD ON!!! The $1000 is for the whole entire car except the seat and belts.  And the cars weight was 3000lbs but now it is 3300. And the tire rule was 75 series DOT in 2010, but in 2011 you can race 60, 70 and 75 series tires.  Still 15's but NO DIAMONDBACKS or ANY RACING TIRES! This rule should stop the big money cars and make a better field of cars. These cars will go to the middle of the track after each race for a claim sale.

All American Bomber Class Rules Meeting at Beech Bend Raceway Park

The American Bomber Class will be for KIDS.  The age has not been set yet.  But Dallas did say it will be for kids 12-16 or 17 years old. The cars will have a roll cage.

Front Runner and Front Runner Figure-8 Rules Meeting at Beech Bend Raceway Park

The Front Runner class didn't change anything except, they will pull to the middle of the track and have a sale of cars after the race. The buying price is $1000 per car.  And anyone in that race can buy any car (NO three place behind the car, and driver. Last place can buy the winner. And a racer that races one night can buy or be bought)  If you don't sell your car, the driver can't come back in that car, but can come back in a different car. There may not be a buy at all.  But example, If someone buys the winner then the winner could buy the second place car and so on.  This is for the entire car minus the seat and belts.

Sportsman Rules Meeting at Beech Bend Raceway Park

The Sportsman meeting. In photo's above are, Steve Bell, Doc Buzzard, John Epley, Brian Cherry, Paul Watkins, Johnny Watkins, Paul's son, Joe Reynolds, Joe's girlfriend, Phillip Akin, Greg Meredith, Myrl Melton, Joey Stancil and Daymond Long.  The Sportsman class did not change. The only thing is that Dallas agree to order all F53 tires.

Late Model Rules Meeting at Beech Bend Raceway Park

On Friday night, 6:00 p.m. drivers, crews, car owners along with Dallas and Clay Jones, owners of Beech Bend Raceway Park met for the rules meeting. This post is of the late model's meeting.  (TOP PHOTO) Left to Right:  Clay Jones, Dallas Jones and Bobby White.  Bobby seems to be asking, Why?  (MIDDLE PHOTO) Left to Right: Keith Montgomery driver of the #40 car, Dennis White driver of the #3 car and Danny Montgomery father of Keith. (BOTTOM PHOTO) Left to Right: Tim Deweese car owner and crew member and Tony Willis car owner of Hunter and Chad's cars.  Tony seems to be telling it.  With all that being said, the late models stay the same as 2010.
