SEVERAL NEW VENUES HIGHLIGHT 2010 IOFS SCHEDULE
Indianapolis, Indiana - December 24, 2009 - International Outlaw Figure 8 Series (IOFS) officials today announced their 2010 schedule. The series is slated to compete at six speedways with events being staged in Indiana, Ohio, and Kentucky.
The series, now in its third season, will compete at several new venues in 2010 as well as return visits to Anderson, Plymouth, and Kentucky Motor Speedway. Twelve events are on the early released schedule with the possibility of two additional events to be released at a later date.
The season kicks off April 10 with a visit to the unofficial home track of the series, Anderson (IN) Speedway. The series will return to Anderson on July 4th as well as playing host to the season championship on October 2nd. Other returning tracks on the schedule include Plymouth (IN) and Kentucky Motor Speedway in Whitesville, KY.
New venues for 2010 include a pair of visits to the Columbus (OH) Motor Speedway and a lone appearance at Kil-Kare Raceway in Xenia, Ohio. The events at Columbus will be the first-ever Figure 8 events at the track outside of the School Bus Figure 8 events held there this past season. This will be the first foray into the Buckeye state of Ohio for the IOFS.
The historic Salem (IN) Speedway will host its first-ever Figure 8 events with two tentative events scheduled for May 23 and August 29. Salem Speedway owner, Owen Thompson, announced on December 18 that the famed .555 high-banked oval would be undergoing several additions over the next three years. Plans call for the construction of a new 3/8 mile asphalt oval to be constructed inside the existing .555 track to be opened in 2010. The new track will be configured for oval and Figure 8 racing. Plans are currently underway with the construction of the new track in hopes of being completed in time for the May 23, 2010 IOFS event.
IOFS Series Director, Charlie Hargraves, shared his thoughts on the recently released schedule. “I am excited to get the new season underway as we will be going to some great new tracks as well as ones that have become a staple on our schedule already." explained Hargraves. “It is great to see so many new tracks want to be a part of what we are doing and we will go to several new markets again this year. We just seem to be picking up more steam as this thing grows and attracting new fans, drivers, and tracks each year. We are working on a couple of other things that will be announced shortly so stay tuned." concluded Hargraves.
Series officials also explained that they are still working on the 2010 IOFS Front Wheel Drive schedule. The schedule should be completed and released by the end of January and will be posted on www.iofsracing.com once it has been finalized.

No BBR on IOFS SCHEDULE. What is going on here?
My thoughts exactly!!! The IOFS was scheduled to run at BBR on July 16th, 2010 up until a few weeks ago. Dallas requested that he be removed from the schedule for now and he would get back with Charlie at a later date to confirm the date or have it removed completely. I truly hope that Dallas re-thinks he decision to remove the IOFS from his schedule. Several drivers were really looking forward to a week long stay in KY that week. They were impressed with the establishment and what all Dallas had to offer. BBR is, by far, one of the nicest tracks we have traveled to (that's my opinion) and Dallas should want people to return and take part in the track and the amusement park. The September 2009 IOFS may not have been the best but it was a lot better than what we have experienced in the last couple of years. With that being said, you have to remember that the IOFS was in the beginning stages and has only grown into a bigger and better series. Since traveling with the majority of these guys in 2009, I have learned that each of them love figure 8 racing and do what they do for the fans!! If Dallas keeps us off the schedule, he is robbing his fans the chance to witness the growth of this series, the chance to take part in some spectacular figure 8 racing and the oppurtunity to get to know some of the best figure 8 drivers in the business. I felt like the crowd count was amazing in September, that place was packed!! As a huge fan of BBR and a hometown girl, I was proud to call BBR and BG home when we raced here. Doodle and I both were really looking forward to racing at home once again in 2010. Not only would that give us the chance to stay close to home but it would also give our sponsors, family, friends and fans the chance to watch him race in a series that he absolutely loves at a track he grew up at. Not only does it give Doodle the chance to race at home again but it also gives our other local guys the chance to race at BBR once again. They deserve to have that chance if they chose to take part in the event. I am not completely sure on Dallas's reason for reconsidering having us return but I hope that he and Charlie can work something out. I understand Dallas is a businessman and only strives to better his business but I think if he gives his patrons what they want, that is one step toward bettering the business. It shouldn't always be about "what yo can do for me" or "what am I going to gain" or "how will I benefit"...sometimes you have to give just a little. Charlie and Dave strive to grow and build the IOFS and all of their hard work shows and is paying off. They have added some great tracks throughout IN, OH, and possibly MO that we are looking forward to trying out for the first time. By doing so, they have gained interest from many drivers in several different states and the fan base is growing day by day. I hope that Dallas will welcome the IOFS again in 2010. Maybe it will or will not benefit him, who knows?! He is in the racing business and he will be allowing an awesome group of drivers and crews to do what they love to do, race! It allows these guys the chance to expose themselves to a new group of people and fans...that is why they do what they do, the fans! It allows many of these drivers to experience a new type of track, a track they may not have ran at before. In the end, BBR may become their favorite overall and they want to return year after year! Come on, Dallas, leave the IOFS on the 2010 schedule!!!!!!!
On BBR's 2010 racing schedule, I just noticed that July 4th shows "stock car racing w/ F8 Special after drag racing". If the IOFS is not supppose to BBR, then what is the "F8 Special" going to be that night???

Paco, don't give up just yet...MAYBE, JUST MAYBE, yall will get to come back again!!!?? I know we all had a great time down here, huh?! We will even make sure Billy fires that grill up again, lol! Plus, if the IOFS does get to come back, we will race the night before Doodle's birthday...you know what that means, lol! (The only problem is, yall gonna have to find a different stocker to pick on this year...absolutely NO stealing the outlaw. Naw, go ahead because that will get a better reaction out of him, lol!)
