POSTED 9-20-08 THE BIG STORY OF 2008, AND BO MILLER HANGS ON TO WIN THE 2008 LATE MODEL CHAMPIONSHIP
What was really going on at Beech Bend Raceway Friday night? Late Model driver Bo Miller has had a strange season. He started out in the black and white #38, then drove the #3 car of Bobby White, then drove the #3 car of Tommy Lawrence, then drove the #05 car of Tommy Climer and that was it, or was was it? NO, it was not the end of the strange Bo Miller season. The #05 car comes in tonight and Bo goes into the night with only a 8 point lead over #99 Chad Willis. As I am busy taking photos, I see the #05 on the trailer and it appears to be ready for the trip to Tennessee with Tommy Climer. But there is one problem, we haven't raced yet. Then you see Tommy and Bo standing at the front of the truck in discussion. And sure enough the #05, Bo's ride is going out the gates toward Tennessee. Then rumors are flying all over the pits. It looks like Bo Miller will hand over the championship to #99 Chad Willis. As the races start up and we are watching them, you look up and over the hill a BIG white RIG comes through the gates into the pits. Yes, you guessed it. It's a ride for Bo Miller. It's the Nashville car of Dillion Oliver #33. So this is car #5 for the season. And yes, Bo races the #33 car finishes ninth and wins the championship for 2008 in the late model class by 10 points over Chad Willis. To me this may be the seasons 2008 story. Oh, by the way! If Bo ever quits racing maybe he would think of becoming a magician. Magicians pull rabbits out of a hat and Bo pulls cars out of a hat. Congratulations to Bo Miller!

POSTED 9-20-08 DANNY "GROVE RAT" MARR WINS THE MODIFIED STREET CLASS 2008 CHAMPIONSHIP
Danny "GROVE RAT" Marr wins the hard fought Championship for 2008 in the modified street class. Danny seen the ups and downs during the year and still held on to win the championship. Rita Cline the only woman to race in this class gave all she had and then some. Rita finished second in points for 2008. Rita can hold her head up high for that job well done. And I can't end this story without saying that with all the hard battles on the track during 2008 season, Rita and Danny had their share, even with each other. At one point Danny and Rita tried to take each other out of the race and tore up a lot of equipment. With that being said, Danny and Rita finally met face to face like man and woman to work out the differences. They did and raced a very good season to the end. Good job racers! And special congratulations Danny with your championship!
