Test and Tune 4-14-12

Had a good turn out for the late test and tune.  It started at 5:00 p.m.  Be sure to make plans to visit Beech Bend Raceway tomorrow for some great NHRA drags.

Holley NHRA Hot Rod Reunion

Bowling Green, Kentucky in June just got hotter with the new addition of Koolhouse Publishing's Rodz DeLuxe Lot featuring some cool customs, rods and even a few pin-up models at the 10th Holley NHRA National Hot Rod Reunion presented by AAA, Father's Day weekend (June 14-16) at Beech Bend Raceway Park.

Koolhouse has been a long-time Reunion participant and fan so this first-time display is a perfect fit! The popular custom car and rods magazines Ol’ Skool Rodz and Car Culture DeLuxe has become a staple in every hot rodder's garage, and share the same passion and love of American car culture and drag racing history as the Wally Parks NHRA Motorsports Museum and the Hot Rod Reunions.

So get ready to get your socks knocked off with their cool display which will be located in the oval track at Beech Bend. Greathouse Motorsports set a new 275 drag radial record for the quickest and fastest pass in history

By Justin McChesney -  At the ORTC “Lights Out 3” Race at South Georgia Motorsports Park, Greathouse Motorsports set a new 275 drag radial record for the quickest and fastest pass in history. In round 3 qualifying, Joel Greathouse in his 1990 silver Fox Mustang posted a 4.565 at 162.47 in the eighth mile. It was accomplished on the newly released Mickey Thompson 275 drag radial. The car is powered by a Bennett Racing 434” small block Ford with a 98mm Precision Turbo with an 88mm reducer. The pass was also a record for any single turbo vehicle on any size drag radial. Greathouse Motorsports would like to thank Bennett Racing, Precision Turbo, Kolivas Racing, TCI transmissions, Pro Torque converters, VP Racing Fuels, and Mickey Thompson Tires for making this possible.

It Is Official 2012 Drag Racing Season Has Started.

By Odell Turner-Bowling Green, Ky. - Saturday 3-3-12 was the first day of test and tune.  This made it officially the start of the 2012 NHRA drag season at Beech Bend Raceway Park.  We had a great turn out of racers.

I have talked to Dallas Jones, owner of Beech Bend Raceway Park.  We have discussed the 2012 season and what my job will be.  I will be covering the drag races and stock car races for 2012 at Beech Bend Raceway Park.
