POSTED 5-31-09 HAS ANTHONY RUSSELL REALLY CHANGED?
Anthony showed great sportsmanship the first race. Then his second race we see him hit Tony Rothe coming out of turn two and push him all the way down the back stretch and then turn Tony just before entering turn three. I was standing in turn one on the wall and could see this very good. I also could hear the engine and it never sounded like Anthony was lifting his foot. Hey, I'm not trying to down Anthony, I even put my neck out there and said we need to give him another chance. I took a lot of crap for it too! I would like to hear from both drivers and NOT your crew and friends, family and etc. But from my view it look like another bad judgement call on Anthony or just simply BAD SPORTSMANSHIP! Fans be nice and fair, but what did you see? Post your comments today. Again, please drivers you have the chance to set me straight if this is NOT true. My site is NEWS and RUMORS!

Odell this is PAUL WATKINS when HAMMERHEAD bumped the 44 car in the middle of the turn just like all drivers who race are supposed to the 44cars bumper got lodged between my cars 2 front bumper braces they was hung together any one w/common since could tell that.I personally think that red is a good driver and w/a little more seat time he will be winning race in the sportsman division,he timed trialed 17:12 and will get faster from there, he was not being over aggressive it was one of those racin things!
Odell, you are just trying to stir the pot. My mom always said if you can't say something good don't say nothing at all. Rubbing is racing!!! Hammerhead and Rothe talked after the race everything is fine.Both of the race cars bumpers hung together.Why put something like this on here in the first place.We at WMS/HHR is just trying to race and have fun. Then we get to here this junk.Keep stirring the pot up you may get someone mad about this. We just laugh it off.
you are 100% right, that's exactly what i saw. i think he's still the same, was just trying to cover everything up and say that he's really changed. he clearly hasn't. and i think it's so unfair, not just to tony by damaging his car, but to you, odell, you seemed to be the one and very few that actually tried to help him by giving him another chance and telling everyone else that he should get another chance.
but on the up side, after all this during the race did you notice that he drove off the track, as if he were trying to keep everything to a minimum with his actions.
OKAY.....he drove off the track because like i said in my first comment the bumpers got hung together and when that happened it put a hole in our radiator and the car got hot!and whats all that talk about 2nd chance because apparently u dont like him and thats fine because the ones that dont just dont and the ones that do just do and thats,that..WMS80..

First of all rubbin is racin and just what kind of action do you think I'm encouraging?what happened friday was a fluke thing our bumpers got hung but that want happen again cause I put some braces on our bumpers to prevent that in the future,and Hammerhead want have an episode like he did last year w/joey and if he does he want be driving for me any longer but also he will not be getting beat on or pushed around by any driver while he is driving a WMS hotrod,he will be just as agressive as the cats he is running with..also we will be moving up,but the 400,500lbs doesnt bother me cause i can scale that car back up and get the same numbers,no big deal! i dont know if my last post went through but if not he owes you an apology but it shouldve been last year or at least when he got saved he should have fixed or replaced your car he should have fixed or replaced the geen and white carits hard to climb in that car and not get hurt but then when u do especially like that the nitemares are scary
Odell we seen the same thing you seen, and we all said here he goes back to his old ways, and there was about 15 others in the stands that said the same thing around us, Everyone wants to be a WINNER but you have to think of others and the time and money that is put in theses cars, The first race Hammerhead was doing good but now he is on a roll and now coming to Sportsman Class they do not want him in there class either He just needs to think about this and people are going to talk we all have the freedom of speech no matter if odell started this or who i am a odell fan and you all should be thankful for him so when your car Wins Who will take your Pictures? Guess who Odell !!!!! He is a Great Man him and his Family so stop here. You see what you see and that is it.Lets Race and be nice......

If a glass of water is sitting on a table half full...some will say it is half empty. Samething here. Although we all seen the events that took place, we don't see them exactly the same. I have an opinion as to what happened & I feel that it could have been "racing" but Anthony should have backed out of the throttle some to give Tony the chance to get straight or the chance to "save it" at least. Obvisously Anthony knew that he had Tony jacked up on the straight away- many of the people in the stands seen it. Now, it is not fair for me to sit and judge Anthony but I will say this & I said it before...Anthony, all eyes are on you & they were. Everyone was waiting for this to happen. Now that it has, they are convienced that you are the person they think you are. I have to say that you have brough all of this upon yourself w/ the help of your family, friends and crew members. Had you not done what you done last year- people would think this was just a racing incident. Had your crew member acted a bit more mature...samething. Had the select few not gotten on the this site and "boast and bragged" about you...again, samething. I guess you should start asking God for forgiveness for you and them b/c what goes around comes around and as long as you/they keeping going, the sh!t is gonna keep coming!
they where locked together from the middle of the turn till the middle of the straight away where they broke free from each other.. that goes to show u dont have a clue if u think anthony could have lifted and tony would have saved his car well he did lift and hit the brakes!THEY WHERE LOCKED TOGETHER the annoncers even said from the tower that they where hung up together,Anthony is a good driver give him a break..........
This is Richard and I wish some of these people would at least stated there name. It is easy to talk about someone, but not to there face.Just keep on talking behind the word Anonymous.Someone stated that Hammerhead could have lifted. Well if the bumpers are stuck together how can you. That is the reason both spun.Look at Hammerhead Bumper it ripped the middle out of it. Needs a new raditor. All i have to say if you are going to talk at least stated your name. As far as Hammerhead and Rothe there is no hard feels between neither driver.I don't know what the problem is with all of you running off at the mouth.

Okay its time for my opinion if you stupid people would watch the race as you say you did then you would have seen anthony did not spin tony tony spun his self when he gased on it to stay ahead of anthony. Wait i forgot we dont have to explain to NOBODY about what happened cause oviously you think you know what happened & clearly you DONT!!! The best thing for the NONE fans & ODELL is to keep my husbands name out of your MOUTH!!! You may or may not like the hammerhead gang but anthony has done no wrong at all this year so just stop with all the running off at the mouthcause its getting old!!! I have said it once & i will say it again anthony is the best driver/man out beech bend!!! i dont think anthony has won yet....and im sure that motor is not legal sportsman i smell protest but come on he really isnt going up he has nrvrer performed well in the sportsman class
yes we are moving up to the sportsman division this fridaynite,and hammerhead did very well in the sportsman div,last season considering that,that was a brand new reconstructed chasis from front bumper to rear bumper,absolutly everything was changed on it from where it was back when i drove it till now frontclip,shocks,springs,swaybar, rearend,its all brand new and that he never drove that car before so yes he did very well in the sportsman div.and would have one the season pionts championship if he would have kept on drivin for WMS after i got hurt, oh and you think my motor is not sportsman legal well i say pay a sportsman driver the money to tear me down and find out!because i'm right from bumper to bumper and roof to floorpan! this blog states "Local Racing news and rumors" The person that runs this blog has every right to state their opinion. I know Odell gave Anthony a lot of respect when nobody else did at first, so I think that everyone has their opinion and that doesn't mean that you are getting picked on. This is what makes everyone have their own uniqueness. I am sure if you don't like the comments or can't handle them, then maybe you shouldn't log on to this blogging site. This is just my opinion, and I have one just like everyone else. Racing will always have some redneck in it, there is always going to be drama. You are not at the opera guys, so just take it. It takes a better man to take it than to start it or keep dragging it out.

Just a little FYI for ya. First of all, both of the comments you guys left are prime example of why people have developed the opinions thay have toward you. Lisa, it is not very Christian like to call people "stupid", ya know?! Also, if you are following the word of God and living so high and mighty by it, your comment would not have had to have been edited before it could be posted. Secondly, Anthony, you speak really highly of yourself and you driving ability. Shouldn't that be left for others to do? That's when you know you are truely good- when other people brag on you not you bragging on yourself. That to me is called having a "Big Head". Everyone has the option of write what the want, when they want and whether or not they post their name or not. You on the other hand have those same options ALONG with the option of read these comments or not. I know to read this stuff maybe hurtful & frustrating (Lisa, I can sense you are very angry/frustrated w/ your comment) but there are times in our lives that the truth may hurt. With that being said, if you are getting this outraged, then there must be some truth to what you are reading. Also, have you guys ever thought that this is a trap and you are being lured right into it? People can see what it is doing to you so therefore they are going to continue to post b/c they are getting a reaction from you!! BUT your reaction is only hurting your situation rather than helping it. So, either don't read what has been written or find a better why to respond...

first of all.....by the rules a street mod car should be faster than a sportsman car...200lbs lite w/no engine rules. Thats a no brainer. And why are all these anonymous people on here?....GO RED GO....LOL

My wife and I moved here last year and have been attending the stock car races every since. We leared of this site and the TV show from a man sitting in the stands beside us. We never miss the show, because since we are not from here, we get to see the drivers and learn about them. We get on this site every night to learn what is going on. I want you guys to know that you put on a great show and we wouldn't miss a week. When the incident happened between the #48 car and the #44 car, I thought, I can't believe that guy is pushing him like that. Everybody in the stands was going crazy. They were all mad, screaming "He hasn't changed a bit." So we got on the site and Mr. Turner asked the driver of the #44 and #48 to tell their story. To my surprize they said the cars were hung together. Anyway, that's good to know. I am still a fan of both of these guy's and you keep up the good racing. I have alot of fun reading this site and at least since I don't know very many people here I can keep up with what's going on. Also, I saw that they have a stockcar banquet at the end of the year. Can anybody come? I would like to meet some of you guys. "A FAN IN THE STANDS"
ABSOLUTELY anyone can come at the end of the season just buy your tickets and you can come and take part and meet everybody.
the sportsman class used to have a 3 win tear down rule and WMS was toredown 4times and all4times they were right so why dont u comment on something u know to b right and stead of sayin stuff just to b sayin it.

You have did it again, Thanks to Hammerhead he has blown your site up again. Ever time he is mention on here you get a bunch of comments. So know we know why you mention his name on here all the time. Plus running in the back you would not know nothing about winning,Bumpers hanging, someone to hit your bumper. That is unless they were going to lap you for the 10th time. Always will be a Hammerhead Fan. ( The little front runners don't count Odell) What happen when You ran Sportman. That is right BBR only had 3 or 4 cars you finished last almost every week. ( unless some broke or something like that.) What is your fastest time at BBR 19 or 20 sec. HAMMERHEAD biggest fan. This is matt melton and i don't see how i got brought into this i havent done anything to anyone in this class i personally don't care if hammerhead races with us or sportsman he hasn't done anything to me. And why is terry being brought into this he races in the front runners. And futhermore my last name is MELTON on MASON learn to spell stupid.
Okay Im a fan in the stands.. I have read this blog for 2 years now and i have never seen anyone bash and talk about odell the way they have. Odell is a good guy and only reports how he see's it. I mean he's not accusing anyone he was trying to get everyone's opinion and every redneck tom dick and harry had to get stupid and start accusing him of placing blame Odell u do a great job of Keeping this site up .. If Hammerhead moves up to Sportsman the best he will ever run will be 2nd if he ever passes tech. Which is highly un-likely unless they change some of the current items on the car. That is the reason it is in mod street anyhow, if it was legal for sportsman it would be running sportsman. Personally I dont think he will ever out run the 22 car. It used to be a great class. What ever happened to the 99 and the 41 car. Guess they two got tired of this same BS.

odell, i saw and heard what happened a blind man could see what happened their bumpers got stuck together and judging from the whole race rothe had anthony on the straightaways anthony gained ground in the turns so what im saying is that how could anthony push him down the backstraightaway if rothe pulled him,and 2nd how could anyone hear anthony motor over rothe's big block,also last week did we all forget that cage crushing hit that the 11 car put on him and he done nothing,if you guys want to bash him and paul because they care about racin and work on there cars and turn wrenchs and practice and talk and listen and communicate and do there homework then go ahead,but ya'll cant stand the fact that he is back and better than ever, and the only problem i see is that people are so ashamed of what they say,they cant even show there name how cowerdley? and cant beat'em buy'em has always been a way buy a championship,so man up and build something to beat him or else hush,and buy the way he is running a 2barrell carb,man looks like hammerhead is at the disadvantage.!!!

the only reason the 48car started the season off in the modifiedstreet was because it still had the 880 hoosiers on it now with the 980 hoosiers it will be on the same playin field as the rest of the sportsman cars, oh and what items do you think is on that car that needs to be changed?with a comment like that,that really shows that you are a instagator cause that car is right and a little food for thought that car has out ran the 22car several,several times!

why r these people being rough on Odell,his last season in the sportsman div after he blowed his good cars engine he brought that old camaro out just to fill in and help the car count out so give him a break and with that being said that has to count for something and that also has to tell a little bit about his character to help out a class that really needed it and to have a car that doesn't have a chance to win,thats just a little somethig to think about before u start throwin anymore bricks at him...
people need to just lay off odell he is a good guy and reports it how he see's it and if people wouldnt have the negative comments about anthoney if he wouldnt have gave them the impression that he was a bad driver last year people wouldnt assume that he hasnt changed I wish everyone luck and hope that no on gets hurt but people grow the hell up and get a life race to win not to argue. if someone bumps u dont go accusing everyone but yourself.

In regards to the comment about car count low and saving racing...as anyone ever stop to think that this site does more damage than what it is worth?! I am really sorry to say that but because there is so much BS on here, it is literally causing people to turn away from BBR and the people that goes there. Because there is 1 or 2 people that get on here and wear out "Anonymous" posting stupid stuff, people have taken it personal and taken it out on BBR by not going because who can read this and then go out there expecting it to be a good show?! Odell, in my opinion, STOP THE USE OF ANONYMOUS OR AT LEAST STOP APPROVING THE SAME BS POST! Obvisously, these ridiculous post are coming from a select few that apparently is not happy with themselves so therefore they have to get thier kicks out of trying to make someone else's life just a miserable all while ruining a great site and racing!!!!!!! I have used "Anonymous" for this same reason. I do not have time to have people start "bashing me, my husband, making personal attacks on me or my family or making threats toward me or my family". I am 100% ADULT and would expect anyone reading this to be one as well but by the comments on here, I can only assume that there are more kid viewers than adult. I am not saying that negitive stories or coment should not be posted but enough is enough. Who cares if you like someone or not, at least be respectful toward the others that do get on here for the intent to read about the races and the drivers and to stay informed on what is going on in the world of racing! In closing, I will say this: until there are some major changes at BBR...we will probably end up going somewhere else to enjoy our weekly racing. I would rather it not be that way but it's true. Dallas needs to get it together. Maybe he should have a meeting with the drivers and the fans to get thier input on what they would like to see different. It may or may not work. I just know that I miss the racing and crowd we use to have! Maybe one day it'll be like the "good ol days"?! Let's hope...and pray!
THE ONLY THONG THA WELL SAVE RACING IS AN AFFORDABLE STREET OR MODIFIED CLASS WHERE ANYONE CAN WIN NOT JUST THE HIGH DOLLAR BOYS COMPETITION BREEDS MORE CARS AND BETTER SHOWS
