The races were very exciting at Kentucky Motor Speedway on Sunday, May 17. With the
IOFS (New Figure-8 Series) putting on a great show. But that wasn't the only show in town on Sunday. Seventeen year old Jeffery Barnett, driving his #38 Chevy, got his first win. I talked to his Dad and this was his second race in a full size car. Last race he finished a very close second. Tonight, Jeffery had fast time and then drew the #one spot and got to start on the poll. As the green flag waved, Jeffery hauled that #38 machine off into turn one very deep and to my surprise he made it work. He didn't just do it once. The yellow flag was thrown a couple more times and he did it each time. I believe this kid is someone to be heard of in years to come.
