The rain came on Friday and kept the Harley's off the race track. In the top photo you can see that the race teams were on hand for this race in Bowling Green. This will be the first race of the 2009 season for the AMRA series. Event organizers hope to qualify on Saturday and race on Sunday. However, the weather forecast this morning (Saturday) doesn't look very promising either. I talked to Dallas Jones, owner of Beech Bend Raceway Park and he said, " I can't control mother nature, so we will just have to wait and see what this weather does." I didn't get a chance to talk to Marty VandenHeuvel, President of the AMRA to get his input, but did see him talking to some of the folks at the AMRA trailer. So in short, it is just wait and see what the weather does to the Bowling Green area. As of this writing the plan is to try to get the race in even if it is all in one day, maybe Sunday or Monday.
