IOFS BREAKS THE ICE AT CIRCLE TRACK EXPO Indianapolis , IN - Saturday January 31, 2009 - With temperatures outside freezing and snow piled up the new International Outlaw Figure 8 Series didn't let the weather slow them down. Representatives from the newly formed IOFS participated in Saturday's Indy Circle Track Expo with a booth that featured the 2009 car that will be driven by Series Director Charlie Hargraves. Series owners David Sink and Charlie Hargraves were also present to greet fans. The IOFS was on hand to pass out schedules to fans and educate people just exactly IOFS has to offer short track fans around the Indianapolis area. Over the course of the day several hundred schedules were handed out to excited fans new and old. Series officials spent much of the day being interviewed by the Indy Circle Track Expo PA team as well as several auto racing media outlets. "There is huge interest in this series right now" explained Sink. That was very clear by the media coverage we received today and the huge amount of schedules we handed out". Several notable IOFS supporters stopped by to say hi including Plymouth promoter, Tom Smith, and 2008 Plymouth Speedway track champion, Steve Stacy. Smith and Stacy were on hand to check out th e IOFS cars up close. Stacy will be competing with IOFS each time they visit Plymouth in 2009. Also seen hanging out at the IOFS booth were Gary Mong and Steve Little of Anderson Speedway. Both Mong and Little explained that interest is high for the three IOFS appearances at Anderson Speedway in 2009. Another IOFS supporter who stopped by was JR Rouse of www.race8.com along with several drivers who have expressed an interest in running in 2009 with IOFS. Rich Fenwick, Johnny Hargraves, Bruce Mcfall, Jeff Swinford, Johnny Magee, Donnie Scurry, Jeff Hizer and Chuck Rogers were just a handful of the drivers seen chatting with Hargraves and Sink at the busy IOFS display. Also on hand was freelance columnist Tom Botas of MidAmerican Auto Racing News, www.luvracin.com, and www.racestarpublications.com. Botas was present to help draw interest in the IOFS fan club that series officials will unveil the details of very soon. Botas is helping get the fan club started and has asked fans to help give ideas as to what the fan club could offer. IOFS officials also announced that another date has been put on the 2009 schedule. The series will visit Rockford , IL on June 28 in a double header weekend that also sees the series visits Slinger Super Speedway in Slinger, WI one day earlier. The date is listed as tentative right now until the purse details are finalized. Overall IOFS officials were extremely excited at the response they received at the Indy Circle Track Expo. Many fans have expressed interest in following the series in 2009 as well as several notable drivers. Several contacts were also made which should strengthen the series for years to come as the IOFS heads into its first season. The IOFS was also quick to point out that several people played a huge part in making the show a success. “If it wasn't for Lawrence Towing our display wouldn’t have been possible and we are grateful for that" explained Hargraves. "Chris and Mark Eads Jr. helped get our display car safely to the show and I would highly recommend Lawrence Towing to anyone as they are very professional and prompt, so once again a huge thanks to them".
