I thought about this war between Matt Melton and Joe Bland most of the day. The question was how do I report this incident without making one or both parties mad at me? With that being said let me first say this. I love stock car racing as much as most anyone out at the local tracks of Beech Bend Raceway. I would do nothing on purpose to hurt Beech Bend Raceway, Stock Car Racing or any of you racers. I happen to feel that I am friends with both parties. Again, with all that being said, as I have said on here more than once I DO NOT LIKE TO SEE RACERS USE THEIR CARS AS WEAPONS ON THE TRACK OR IN THE PITS. I also have raced many times at Beech Bend Raceway and other tracks. I have gotten so mad that I could have beat the daylights out of another racer. But I didn't! If you are going to race or compete in any competition you must learn to keep your feeling and tempers in check. Easier said than done, I know! Losers KEEP fighting and WINNERS and REAL men can say I'm SORRY and go on racing. The only trouble with that is sometimes neither side feels like they were wrong and that MALE macho thing comes into play. Well tough, get over it. The crowd keeps most of this stirred up. Why? Because they like to see you all put on a show. And if one of you hurts, kills or do anything bad, you go to jail and they go home and laugh at you while they sleep in their nice warm bed and you are in a cold old jail and maybe for a long time. I know you say I'm not going to kill someone, right! Ask a former racer Joe Ray. He hit a crew member/Owner and when he fell to the blacktop he hit his head and almost died. Joe got 5 years. Is this really worth it? I think not. NASCAR has trouble with drivers. Just like Carl Edwards and Kyle Bush. NASCAR also keeps a handle on things. And again, with that being said, a good rivalry is fine and also fun for the fans to watch. Even bumping and hard racing is good. But if a guy spins you be a man a shake his hand at the end of the race. He will think a lot more of you. But if he spins you again next week? Get someone that is not with you, like Dallas Jones, Bobby White, Gary Dalton and after the drivers meeting talk to him with them. But talk like a man and no foul language or such. Work it out like grown men. Hey, and you kids racing in a man's world need to act like grown men too! I could rattle on for ever, but I will stop. Guy's remember, young kids in the stand may want to race someday and may have you as their idle. And if you post on my site remember to KEEP IT CLEAN.

I agree with you Odell, it takes more of a man to shake hands and end it rather than all of this nonsense. I just hope everyone remembers that this is suppose to be fun, and sometimes we drivers make mistakes, but we just have to try to make it right and let it go. I hope everyone can try to work things out and finish off the year right.
I WANT TO MAKE A PROTEST FOR WHAT WAS DONE TO ME!!!!!!! #11 DRIVER SPUN ME AROUND AND HAD THE #17 DRIVER INTENTALLY (FROM 100 FEET AWAY FROM ME), WHICH I FEEL HAD PLENTY ENOUGH TIME TO STEER AWAY, RAM ME HEAD ON, WHICH COULD HAVE INJURED ME CONSIDERABLY. IF BEECH BEND RACEWAY CONDONES THESE ACTIONS, THEY SHOULD BE SHUT DOWN FOR LETTING DRIVERS SUCH AS DAVID #29 GREEN BONNEVILLE, MATT MELTON #11, AND THE #17 DRIVER, OR THE DRIVERS SHOULD BE HELD RESPONSIBLE. I JUST WANTED TO RACE UP HERE AND HAVE A GOOD TIME, BUT WHEN YOU HAVE TO RACE AGAINST INMATURE DRIVERS WHO DO NOT CARE ABOUT THEIR CARS, OR THEIR LIVES, THEN THEY SHOULD NOT BE ALOUD TO DRIVE HERE, OR SHOULD BE SUSPENDED FOR THE REST OF THE SEASON, AND THEIR POINTS SHOULD BE TAKEN AWAY.
OR DOES BEECH BEND RACE WAY CONDONE THIS JUST TO GET TICKET SALES UP? IF ANYONE CARES ABOUT THIS SITUATION THEY CAN TALK TO ME PERSONNALLY. I CAN HANDLE THIS LIKE A MAN!!!!!! It should be made very clear that the majority of the people that race at BBR are there because they love it.....it's in their blood and sure we all love a challenge the competition...adrenaline rush...just pure excitement! But they all invest money , heart, blood and sweat into their cars and hate to see people deliberately try to destroy that week in and week out...not to mention that MOST of the people that race there are parents, husbands and wives who have children, and family to take care of!! These young Boys who are out there repeatedly doing these acts of stupidity on the track have no concern about this...they figure they are young fearless and only 1 life to live and live it to the fullest no matter who it hurts...it really is pretty bad, as well as sad that young boys have to ruin it for the ones who truely love this sport! I can also tell you that at other tracks they don't put up with this type of stuff...1 warning and after that yer gone for good! Also for the record Bland #55 did not PUT #11 in the wall on friday night diliberately...#11 started to fish tail out on turn 1 and 55 was behind him(11) and the car behind 55 bumped bland which shoved him into 11 and into the wall...sitting at turn 1 you could not only see , smell and hear bland hit the brakes to try not to slam into him!..But the Melton clan accused bland of intentionally putting Matt into the wall...NOT TRUE and this was told to Matts father whom Bland had spoke to after the race...in turn they told bland they would either have him in the wall on sunday to watch out...or maybe even claim his car!..Then of course you see what they did to bland on sunday night!Poor Sportsmanship and not very good parenting either!
If you wanna know my opinion its all crazy and immature that anyone i dont care who it is has to go and put their car up b/c they are two chicken to handle it off the track i mean i like matt and i dont know bland but what im saying if you have to use your car as a weapon to win a fight then your chicken thats all their is.. Just like Doodle and Tommy get over it hell ya just got spun it aint like their was any blood lost their its just a race no need to hurt people over a damn race excuse my language ....... GET A LIFE instead of trying to Take someone elses.
The Guys at the race track are using there cars as weapons be a real man and handle things like a real man and real men do not need weapons .. Talk things over everyone wants to be a winner Theses cars have lots of time and other peoples money in the cars not only the drivers and owners what about the Sponors on theses cars They are not happy to see all of this crazy stuff Beech Bend needs to get the drivers under control or keep them off the track Because if i had a car I WOULD NOT BE AT BEECH BEND.... 3 More races to go I hope everyone can act like real men and STOP acting like FOOLS>>>>> There are little kids watching all of this... i din't start nothing. if i do recall you have spun me out three times now. i have had your orange paint on my car numerous times. and i do not give a rats butt about the points.and if memory serves me right, i have been in front of you in points all year in the oval. i am just here on fridays to race. who cares about points. obviously points are a big deal, i could care less. and every tom, dick, and harry told me to watch my behind, because you and your clan were going to take me out. well you got your wish. that friend of yours used one of your 3 cars as a weapon, and intentually hit me head on, even steered the car right into the path of my front end. i seen it all because he was right in front of me, and clearly everybody that was in front of him veered out of the way. explain that one. i think you know exactly what i mean when i say that you and your clan of so-called racers planned to do exactly what you did sunday night. now, how come you couldn't tell me that yourself since you are so big on saying someting to someones face in person!!!!!!!!!! not man enough???????? and really, who cares how many cars you got. are you going to put tommy #23 in the wall to pass him on points now, or maybe mark #a-1, are you going to put him in the wall or spin him out and have someone hit them head on???? i think you need to ask yourself is all this worth it what you are doing????? i don't think anyone cares where anybody is in points or purse money, or anything. they just want to see racing, not inmature drivers with no care in the world, destroy all of the racers cars in the division just to win a points race. and that guy with the gray beard is not my dad, he is just a fan. i can't control what other people say. and one more thing. if you want to talk to me or tell me what you are going to do, grow up and talk to me in person instead of through your groupies.

i am done with this whole thing this is my last year in a frontrunner. I won't wreck you anymore as long as you don't wreck me. And i was infront of you in points and have been for a while. When you put me in the wall i didn't get any points at all. The only reason i spun you is because you was blocking me. This friday i won't bump, wreck, or do any thing to you as long as you don't do anything to me. I will pass you clean as i can. Just tell me to go to the inside or the outside I can do either one. But if you wouldn't have locked up the brakes infront of me the last race i wouldn't have spun you. When i tryed to pass you clean you ran me up toward the wall. But all i can say is if you want to keep this game up we can. But i would prefer to end it here. Because if we don't stop one of us is going to really get hurt. And i didn't tell the boy to hit you head on he was only suppose to bend your wheel in like you did me. I didn't tell him to hit you head on.

that last comment is the first step to taking responsability for your actions on the track and i think you and joe should finish this by talking by yourselves friday night,not dad,friends or family.

Matt admitted in writeing his last comment that he intenially took Bland out by haveing his OTHER CAR do the other half of his dirty work.
Bland could care less about points,or the money,as we are out to have a good time.
