I have received post and emails about the July 4th Figure-8 special race. I will check and post the facts. But I think I am safe in saying it is NOT the IOFS. I am fairly sure it is a twin 15 lapper with the Front Runner Figure-8. I will post more on this later.

Why/how are you so sure that it is NOT the IOFS? (I'm not intending for this question to sound "smart"...just curious on how you know they are not coming if the series director is not 100% sure yet)
Nothing at all against the front wheel drive class or drivers but I can not believe Dallas is going to hold a "special" event for the front wheel drive class and not bring the IOFS back! The front wheel drives put on some great shows last year but the stands will not fill up for this event as they did for the IOFS. Come on, Dallas!!!!
(1)Sorry I don't know when the rules will be printed. I will try to find an answer soon. (2) I am not so sure. But, I think we did a special race for the front runner figure-8 last year and the IOFS doesn't have BBR on their schedule. So go figure. Plus I never said they weren't coming just not on the 4th. (3)First of all the front wheel drive cars bring about 20+ cars all at $20 each pit pass plus the crews and friends. The IOFS had what? 14 cars? at $20 each plus have to pay them to come. As for the crowd, I will give you that but after a track pays them do they make as much off that race? And I don't know the answer. But I ran a business for 15 years and know that the top line may look good but the bottom line may be very bad. I for one would love to see the IOFS back at Beech Bend Raceway. NOTE: My comments are mine and mine only and are NOT that of Dallas Jones or Beech Bend Raceway Park.
believe me, the bottom line of the IOFS is not bad at all, they more than paid for themselves everywhere they went, if not all the tracks and new tracks would not want them in, i have talk to the series promoter, they want bbr once, maybe even twice in 2010, but waiting on dallas to make up his mine, there would be over 20 cars there this year, garunteed..... come on fans, hit is hard, bring back the iofs, also you look at this, there were many iofs teams that stayed the weekend in the campgrounds, and dozens of iofs people went to the park on saturday, so you made more money, it pays to bring in good cars, good people, good competition to your track..... and besides, the iofs is cheaper then the ken tenn late models, and which are better shows?????
There is a possibility that it could be the IOFS FWD Winged division.

BBR is not on the IOFS schedule b/c Dallas requested that BBR be taken off. The last I knew, Dallas and Charlie were still trying to finalize the details. I guess we will have to wait and see if the IOFS will be at BBR or not. I do know that the IOFS was originaly scheduled to return on July 16th, so the scheduled race for July 8th would not be the IOFS.
I have no clue if the July 4th race would be the front wheel drive IOFS division or not...I have not seen that anywhere nor has Charlie mentioned that to me. I do not see Dallas bringing one part of the IOFS and not the other...just my opinion. As far as I know, the IOFS front wheel drive division has not released a schedule yet.
If I get any other info, I will post it then. Untill then, I'm just gonna keep hoping that the IOFS comes to BBR!!

Odel can't post the rules cause Dallas ain't printed them yet he ain't worried about them all he's concerned about is his big park exspansion. Besides it's beechbend certain people can run what ever they want and get away with it. Anyways Dallas don't care about the stockcars anymore since he got all those big drag races in there he wouldn't care if anybody showed up them he could shut them down and make his drag strip longer he's al about his dollars !!!!!!!
yes racers you all made the park expansion a success i fer one will be glad when the corvette museum drag track puts on money grubber jones out of business then maybe he hammertoe and the kung fu watkins can go be buddies together in maine or somewhere or san fran cisco
