Hey race fans! It's finally here, the last race of the 2009 season. This is my last pick for the "HARD CHARGER AWARD" and it will go to Late Model driver #25 Mark Oliver. Mark drove very hard and his win Friday night brought fans in the stand to their feet. Late Model driver and 2009 points champion Sammy Sanders battled to the finish line with young gun #99 Chad Willis putting his machine in the mix at the finish line. At the flagman stand cars turned sideways and smoke was so thick you couldn't see a car with Mark Oliver holding the throttle down coming out of the smoke as the winner of the last late model race of 2009. Congratulations, Mark!

Anonymous, I happen to be a close friend to Sammy. It all happened so fast that I really don't know if anyone was at fault or it was a product of short track racing plus last night of the season. All I'm saying is that with all the banging, smoke flying and action from turn 4 to the finish line Mark did a good job and perhaps very lucky to hold on and win. Hey, I'm just a race fan and like to see HOT race action. Maybe if I were one of these three drivers I wouldn't be very happy. Probably would have been MAD!!!! But fans don't take me as the FACT, post what you saw and what you think. I still stand by my award. Sorry guys.

The banging and smoke flying was not a part of short track racing it was mark turning right into sammy, as usual on of his ediot moves. when is everybody going to lern mark oliver is not the driver he claimes to be, just go back and look at the stats this year and how many wrecks hes been in that was his fault. trust me i have been
in front of him , beside him and behind him and way out in front of him is where i prefere to be, and several other drivers have commented the same thing to me several times,he is the only driver
at beech bend in the late model division that drivers dont want to start around................
Sounds like the sportsmen class no one wants to be around the 48 car Hammerhead he is trouble... Trouble makers need to stay at home or off the track..... Great Job Sammy we are your Fans....
i'm starting to believe that Mark isn't the nice driver he has been named to be, and this clearly puts that in bold for ya. and there wasn't any smoke. it was all VERY clear what happened, mark didn't want to lose the last race. Danny and him must be getting driving instructions from the same people.
