Hello race fans! I will try to share a recap of the races by divisions. Let's start with the Front Runner Figure-8 Class. The points leader #32 Mark Cummings finished fifth, second in points #41 Jeff Hogan comes in second. The biggest story in my opinion was first time winner #5A Dakota Gibson. I didn't see anything in this race that needs to be discussed. Moving along to the All American Bomber Class. This class was crazy two weeks ago. I am happy to report that all drivers drove a really good race. The only thing that I saw was my son #75 Jason Turner gave #72 Stacey Key a shot to the rear on the start of the race and caused Stacey to go toward the wall. I ask Jason after the race what he was thinking and he said that he gave his car the throttle as he always does and that he didn't know what happen. He said Stacey was normally gone and that he thought Stacey's car hesitated or something happened. Jason said that you know I would not wreck my car on purpose. He also said that he talked to Stacey after the race and told him he didn't mean to hit him like that. Jason Turner #75 is the points leader and finished second, Darrell Alford #17 second in points finishing third. Now for the Front Runner Class. Points Leader #8c Curtis Butler wins again, second in points #23 Tommy Hoover comes in third. I didn't see anything that was a big news story except the #4 of Steve Schultz was all over the track sideways and hit several cars. This guy is wild and something to watch. One more thing, when will someone get tired of Curtis winning all the races and put the money on him? I personally don't care but just think these guys need to get in the billfold and fix their cars or put the money on him. Now for the Late Model Class. He's BACK!!!!! Bo Miller is back at Beech Bend Raceway and back in the winners circle. Points leader #12 Sammy Sanders finishes second and second in points #25 Mark Oliver comes in third. But #38 Bo Miller wins the race. I will have to say it was a great race and Sammy drove the wheels off his car, putting the bumper to Bo Miller on the last lap and pushing all the way to the flagman stand. Both drivers in my opinion are pros. Before I forget, I must say that #2 with driver Danny Smith lead the most laps but in my opinion saw too much of Bo Miller in his rear mirror and spun out going into turn three giving up the lead. I think Danny will be in the winners circle before the year is over. This next class is having real trouble with car count. In practice #11 driven by Smiths Grove's very own Danny "The Grove Rat" Marr spun out in the middle of turn three and four. Then #44 Tony Rothe comes into turn three and hits Danny. Tony said he didn't see Danny until it was too late because of the sun in his eyes. Danny thinks Tony had time to get his car stopped. Tony got his car repaired but Danny didn't. The Points leader is #44 Tony Rothe and won the race, #11M Matt Melton taking over second in points by only 5 points over #11 Danny Marr. Melton finished fourth. Now for the Sportsman class. This class was just about to be dropped because of a lack of cars. In tonight's race we had nine cars. Points leader #44 Phillip Akin in the Miller Lite car was the winner. Second place in points is #99 Robert Cohron finishing third. Robert is only FOUR POINTS behind Phillip. I have gotten several emails and Anthony's wife made a post about this next deal ( Posted 7-20-09 Top Eight Sportsman). The sportsman race saw #28 driven by Daymond Long in the Budweiser car and #48 driven by Anthony Russell in the WSM prepared car have a spin. I was looking through my view finder of my camera in turn three and four and did not see what happened. I have been hearing a lot of talk about both drivers not happy with each other. I know you are going to say, here you go stirring the pot. No, just reporting the races and if the pot gets stirred it will be you all. POSTED 7-29-09 RECAP OF FRIDAY NIGHT STOCK CAR RACES AT BEECH BEND RACEWAY PARK

i was there in turn 1&2 and i seen the hole thing the 48 couldn't pass the 28 on the outside so he just ran all over the 28 not only once but he did it again after he got them sent to the back
Odell, you stated in your post that the Modified Street class was "just about to be dropped"...is this something you are thinking will happen or is this something that you have seriously heard? I'm just curious.
If it was going to be dropped then would it have been for the rest of the year?
We all kno what really happened. When you got hundreds of peoples eyes watching the same race and you cant deny it but you can justify with the comments you've made. Good job at trying to cover your HUBBYS tracks. All i can say is if he cant drive no better then that, send him to school or get him off the track. As for putting money into your car, they all do, so if your going to whine about it, stay off the track. ESPECIALLY with the way he drives.
the #44 couldn't handle the heat from the #11 so that is why he hit him he had enough time to stop before he got to him
the 48car had the 28car passed going into turn 1, the 28car came down on the 48 and left tire marks on the door around the #'s and then he just stopped on the track he should have been the only one sent to the back of the pack then about 5 laps later he tried to clip the right rear quarter to turn the 48 into the wall but all he did was cut his own tire down and wrinkle up the quarter panel of the 48car, from a fans point of view when another car has a run on you and has the position going into the turn well you just lost the position so why tear your car up and the other guys car up?Be a sportsman and not a dirty driver.This is the best division by fare at BBR w/the most competitive racing,guys be smart do the right thing and control your emotions there r always eyes upon you! just remember that.
Respond to the comment about Modified Street Class. I have not heard that except from some drivers saying that Dallas was going to put them with the sportsman class (RUMOR). Dallas or anyone from BBR has not told me that. But common sense is that if we don't get more cars in this class it will be dropped. Example, look at the big car figure-8 class cut out. Yes, this is just my thinking, NOT A FACT.
the 28car got ran over by the 48car u need to go to value vision and get checked out cause the 48car had a run on the 28car everytime they made contact the 48car was way past the #'s of the 28car as they made entry to the turn #1 thats just racing 101 that all drivers are supposed to know if another car is up to your #'s they've got the line and your supposed to back off but i guess the #28 budweiser car has forgot that maybe his sissy and niecey and his other fan might remind him of that,so when some one is up to his #'s on his doors he doesnt have the line anylonger,thats a racers rule of thumb, but its not just the 48car thats had that particular problem w/the 28car the 44,99,22,9 i'm sure there are others but thats all that come to mind right now,so maybe everyone will play nice friday nite! have fun guys and enjoy make your fans and sponsors proud!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
there is a blind spot in the middle of turns 3and4 when the sun is setting and anyone who thinks that rothe did that on perpuse really dont have a clue cause rothe paid some well known guys to set his car up so why would he pay all that money to crash and tear his own car up that wouldnt make a hole lot of sense now would it? the 11 car is quick but the 44 will be quicker watch in see over the next few weeks it will be like a different car he is already out qualifing the 11 and what danny pulled the other nite after the race he is out classing him to,danny u tried to start a fight u need to grow up
well i saw everything and the 48 just ran in turn 1&2 over his head and hit the 28 in front of his left rear tire and turned him sideways cause he aint man enough to got to the outside and pass like a real driver does and as for the 44 99 22 9 and everybody else that races in that class they all no to pass on the outside like they do or they dont pass cause it is almost impossible to pass a car thats on the bottom of the race track and i no daymond will give u the outside because i have race with him before
as for the rule of thumb you dont drive down in the turn over your head and hit a car in front of his left rear tire and turn him then bank off his door and almost cause him to hit the wall and as for daymond trying to clip his quarter panel if he was trying to he would have

Odell, thanks for following up. Unlike some people that get on here, I know the difference in a rumor and fact. Of course it's "common sense"...I was just curious if this was something that Dallas had discussed with you or someone else. I hate to see it coming to this!!
Now, onto to the whole 11 & 44 isssue. What right did Danny have to tell Tony that Tony could not race and better not race since his (Danny's) car was torn up? AND then to try to confront him after the race to start a conflict? AND to run to Dallas and cry about the situation?

What would have been the whole reason behind Tony hitting Danny on purpose? Newsflash: most of the time when two or more cars wreck, each car involved gets damaged. Do you REALLY think Tony would take a chance in tearing his own car up? I don't! Notice there is not one single sponsor on the 44 car...meaning he (like most out there) is more than likely a self funded team. Why would he want to tear his equipment up while taking out the 11, then turn right around and pay $$$$ out of his pocket to repair what he tore up? I'm beginning to see a pattern here...first it was Rita & Danny, now it's Tony & Danny...anyone want to gues the common denominator here? If you answered Danny, then you are correct! Maybe Danny's logic is to run all his competitors off and then the fans would have no choice but to like him? Sorry, Danny Boy, not gonna happen. You could be the last man standing and I'm not gonna cheer...Tony and the others have shown way more class than you will ever have. In my book, that beats you by a long shot! Danny, what happened here is what some of us like to call "RACING"...WITHIN THIS SPORT, THIS TYPE OF STUFF HAPPENS!! Here are a few things for you to think about: "You win some and you lose some"! "You can't win them all"! "You maybe good but there is always someone bigger and better"! "Anyone can be beat"! "What goes up must come down"! "The bigger they are, the harder they fall"! (Get my drift? Even the best of the best make mistakes...please don't say you haven't?! Suck it up, put your big boy boxers on and go racing. It is what it is).
well the way some of these people think the 48 should be racing nascar all i no is i cant believe paul is letting hammerhead drive that car he is dangerous out there i've watch paul & his dad race for years & they dont race like that remember you've got 25 laps so race right dont try to win on the first lap and dont make it like a demolition derby!!!!
i dont have a dog in this race but i was talkin w/the paramedics in turns 1and2 and the 28 stayed out a little to wide and the 48 had a run going into turn 1 and the 28 cut down on to the 48, so in my opinion the 48 did what he was supposed to be doing. and i'm most definently not a 48 fan i like the 99car go camo go.

let me tell u all somthing daymond has been racing out at beech bend before most of them even new what racing was and i think he knows how to race when hes been doing it for 25 years and when a driver gets halfway up ur door i dont care who it is i aint gonna let them around me if they cant do it theirself so thats my opinion and i guess if u post anonymous comments then u must be talking smack

nephew of #28 how is that grandstand racin workin out for you? not as good as the real thing but save your money maybe you can race a real car instead of a grandstand seat one day..lots of smilies sent your way...
i dont know why everyone always has to post anonymous i guess that they are scared or somthing they want to talk about someone sitting in the grandstand buddy i do race i raced last year but the past to races are the first ones i have seen bc i have a job think u and if u want to be all smart about by next year ill have a sportsman car so how about those apples since yall want to plays yalls little games u seen who hit 3 cars withen to laps anyways duhhhhh

niecey of the #28 dont get all ruffuled up now and dont nobody want a dinosaur car that has no chance of winning ,that car most diffently,despartly needs to be retired cause it couldnt win in the street modifieds,just like you said before its a dinosaur and daymond needs to build or buy a new chasis he has the biggest cubic inch motor in his division that gets down the straight aways but the dinosaur want turn thru the corners w/the other cars.but somebody has to run in the back.
as for the commit about daymonds dinasaur i no that car has won more races than most of the cars combinded together in that class over the years whats the other cars ever won at other tracks? Oh thats rite most aint never raced on another track. (notice i said most cars not all cars)! i no cause i've seen it with my eyes.
well just wanted to say i dont no where some of these people get their info but i no that daymonds motor aint no where big enough i seen it when he built it over 2 years ago to put it in a old truck for somebody but they had to sell it to him cause they lost their job and couldn't afford to finish the truck!
nephew of the #28 you say your gonna hav a sportsman car next season and when someone gets a run on you your not movin over and givin it up then you r in for a rude awakening cause like the old sayin goes you will b takin a trip 2 the OLE CORNDOG STAND!!but if you ever make it 2 a competitive level and you will c just how frustrating it is when you have a fast car and you got a run on a slower car and they dont move over when you've got the line! sometimes you hav 2 move them and use the ole chrome horn but if your not a competitive racer and always in the way you will not ever understand that!
i've been coming to BBR since it re-opned in 84 as dallas jones being the owner and i cant remember the #28 winning that many races.
you must be joking when you say the dinosaur has one more races than most of the cars that are running now,because there are 3 cars that are running right now w/a combination of probably 60 to 75 wins and if you have been around BBR as long as you claim then you would no that and another thing i like daymond and barney the dinosaur but i've been around to and they've not one more than a hand full of races and i'm not tryin to dog on daymond but thats the truth.
when was the last time that barney the dinosaur has been to victory lane? not in last 2 seasons since he has been back not even a contender,cant remember but just a couple all thru the late 80's and just a few in the 90's dont meen to sound like i'm haten on barney but thats are he really has won that many races, and thats just the facts.
every car in the sportsman division that runs weekly except for the #00 and he is a rookie thats the only reason,has won more races than daymond,in the past two years have you seen that with your own eyes?
their yall go not reading the post correctly i said most cars not all cars)! and also i said at other tracks? i no that daymond ran whitesville ten races in the late 90s and won 8 of them cause i was their watching (and i've seen a lot more than a handfull of trophys) well do you remember in the late 80s when the (28 & 29 cars) won almost ever race one season (probaly not you was probably still in diapers!
Hey Odel i think this is funny the way some of these people run daymond down but when their handing all that stuff out every week his sponsors give they sure run up those steps for it.
I just wanted to say this some of this is kind of like that song (God is great,beer is good & people are crazy) ha.ha.ha.
u never know w/short track racing daymond and barney might suprize u they could b packin the checkers fridaynite but #00 could get his first ever win, i hope the man u love to hate hammerhead who has had a stream of bad luck is gettin his 1st sportsman win of the season even if he is running a 6 inch rod,domepiston,406!is that even legal hammerhead?
