POSTED 1-7-09 MORE ON THE IOFS SERIES
IOFS INVADES BLUEGRASS STATE IN 2009 Indianapolis, IN - January 6, 2009 - International Outlaw Figure 8 Series (IOFS) officials today announced a new venue to the already busy 2009 inaugural schedule.Officials announced that the traveling Outlaw Figure 8 series will visit the newly reopened Kentucky Motor Speedway later in the year. The 1/4 high banked asphalt facility near Whitesville, KY is slated for a date yet to be determined. Series Director Charlie Hargraves explains the reason for the TBA date. “Promoter Scott Greer is actually in the process of making some changes to the track. He doesn't think the Figure 8 track will be finished until mid season. With that being said we both agreed a fall date would be best and once he sees how he is progressing with the changes we should be able to finalize an actual date at KMS"stated Hargraves”.Kentucky Motor Speedway opened in 1960 but it wasn't until 1981 that a Figure 8 course was installed. The track was closed after the 2004 season and has set idle until Greer took over promotional duties in late 2008. A single event was held in November. As it stands now the newly formed IOFS series now has four speedways in two states with this latest announcement. In addition to KMS the series will visit Indiana speedways in Plymouth, Montpelier, and Anderson. IOFS officials are shooting for Januar y 31 as the date the entire schedule should be finalized. The IOFS will participating in the Indy Circle Track Expo Trade Show Jan. 31 at which time the chosen tire will be announced. For info on the IOFS go to http://www.figure8news.com until the launch of the series website.
