POSTED 12-31-08 TELEPHONE INTERVIEW WITH DRIVER JAY PARRISH FROM ROCKINGHAM, NC.

Interview with driver Jay Parrish of Bowling Green, KY.
ROCKINGHAM, N.C. (December 31, 2008)- I had the chance to do a telephone interview with Bowling Green driver #79 Jay Parrish. Jay said he was in the high 30's with his times today. The car was running pretty good today and we (my crew) made it better toward the end of practice, however it was a little windy and that made handling in the turns a little exciting, said Parrish. He also told me that he felt he had a car that could qualify in the top 15 and maybe top 10. We would like to wish Jay good luck tomorrow.

POSTED 12-31-08 UPDATE ON POLAR BEAR 150

Polar Bear 150 Practice Day Concludes at the Rockingham Speedway ROCKINGHAM, N.C. (December 31, 2008) – Race teams from all over the country invaded the Rockingham Speedway today to practice for tomorrow’s Polar Bear 150. Seventy-one cars were on hand for the two practice sessions with Chuck Barnes Sr. from Louisville, KY topping the charts when the checkered flag signaling the end of the day’s activities. Barnes’ ran a lap of 120.478 mph in his Mike Prott Transmission Chevrolet Monte Carlo. “With the wind, the car was pretty squirrelly in the turns,” said Barnes. “It should be pretty exciting. Last time we raced at Kentucky, it was a great race. A couple of cars would get together and blow by the leader. It should be a great race tomorrow.” ARCA RE/MAX Series regular, Brett Hudson was second quick at the end of the day. Hudson, a native of Owensboro, KY posted a speed of 120.228 in his Double H Hydraulics Chevrolet Monte Carlo. So what kind of race will race fans see at the Polar Bear 150? “This is going to be the best race I have ever seen,” said David Bryant, whose full time job happens to be Car Chief for Dale Earnhardt Jr. in the Sprint Cup Series. “You have to drive the heck out of these tires because they move all around.” The Polar Bear 150 will begin at 1:00 p.m. tomorrow with R.A. POSTED 12-1-08 AND THE NEW TRACK TIRE IS..............

THE NEW TRACK TIRE FOR SPORTSMAN, MODIFIED STREET AND FIGURE-8 DURING 2009 SEASON. IT IS THE AMERICAN TIRE. THE TIRE SHOWN HERE HAS BEEN RACED 4 OR 5 TIMES.

Monday, December 1, 2008

POSTED 12-1-08 THESE ARE SOME OF THE RACERS FOR 2009 SEASON

JUST A FEW PHOTOS OF THE BEECH BEND RACEWAY RULES MEETING FOR 2009

POSTED 12-1-08 RULES FOR FRONT RUNNER AND THE ALL-AMERICAN BOMBER ARE .....

Nothing change. The only thing was the All-American Bomber class may change it's series name from All-American Bomber to The Big Three Bomber Class.

POSTED 12-1-08 RULES FOR MODIFIED STREET AND FIGURE-8 ARE.............

Only a tire change. The track tire will be the American tire. The rules will read American tire, Hoosier 880, and Hoosier F53. Other rules refer to 2008 rules book.

POSTED 12-1-08 RULES FOR THE SPORTSMAN CLASS ARE................

Tires will be American brand (NEW TIRES) or Hoosier 880(recaps). Aftermarket Bodies or Homemade Bodies Must Add 50 pounds. Floater add 50 pounds. The rules will match Highland Rim Speedway, Kentucky Motor Speedway (Whitesville) and London Speedway. Other wise rules will stay the same, see 2008 rule book.

POSTED 12-1-08 RULES MEETING TONIGHT AT BEECH BEND RACEWAY FOR LATE MODEL ARE....

Ride Height lowered to 3" like Highland Rim Speedway. New tire will be the 1070, but the rules will read 1070 or 1080. Create Engines 400 HP Heads, NO 475 HP HEADS! The rules stand as open for change if you run then maybe a 2 bl. or 100 pounds. If you port and polish your heads then add 50 pounds. On a protest both cars MUST tear down (Even Create Engines) There was talk of Dallas contacting Fisher about sealing a create engine. Bobby White has the spec's for a create engine. You don't have to seal your create engine back to run at Beech Bend. You can change retainers (NOT VALVE SPRINGS) on create engines. Dallas may get the seal's to reseal an engine. Dallas said he would wait and see what Highland Rim Rules are in writing and then he would print ours. Nothing else will change, so refer to 2008 rules book for more. I hope I got all this right. If there are more or these facts are not right please post on the comment section or email me at kyjava1997@bellsouth.net thanks, Odell NOTE: Protest for top end is now $400 and bottom end is $400 for the entire engine it will be $800
