Blake Fields #28 and Terry Gill #33 hit in the crossing of the front runner figure-8 last night. Both cars looked to be completely destroyed. Blake did seem to have been hurting somewhat in his legs but other than that no one was hurt in this wild crash.

Late Model Winner Martin Belcher # 2 from Brooks, KY. near Louisville was protested by one of our our late model teams. He was tore down and found to be illegal. The win then went to #38 Bo Miller and Josh Byrns #31 moved to second. Question is who put the money of the #2 car? A source has told me it was the #31 car. However that is just hear say and has not been confirmed. Also, just to let you fans know that is the way the rules are.

POSTED 4-26-08 REPORT FROM STOCK CAR RACING AT BEECH BEND RACEWAY

Race fans! we finally got to have our stock car races. It was a wild night of racing at Beech Bend Raceway. We had a wild wreck in the Front Runner Figure-8, The winner of the late model class had his win taken away because he was protested by another race team and found illegal. We had been rained out the first two weeks and then we were not scheduled race the third week because of drags so this was week four and they were calling for rain again. The rain never came but we did have a small problem the lights went out on the track during late model qualifying and we were down for about 30 minutes. And we seen Kevin Dickens #96 get his first figure-8 win in the big car figure-8. Matt Melton also got his first win in the front runner figure-8. I will be posting more and some pictures later.

As Creedence Clear Water sang, I what to know have you ever seen the rain? And the answer is YES!!!! Two weeks in a row and rain has forced the stock car races to be cancelled. Next week is an off date for stock car racing, so that means that the first race of the 2008 season for Beech Bend Raceway will be April 25th barring rain, snow or etc... See you then. Odell

Toyota? Beat a Chevy at BBRP? NEVER!!! And as for the fast Ford coming to BBRP to take on Bo Miller, It's not the car or make, but the guy behind the wheel. And I am not saying you don't have to have a good car to beat Bo, nor am I saying Bo can't be beat. What I am saying is that it will take more than a blue oval (FORD) to beat Bo. You will need the complete package to do it on regular basis. I for one just like most fans would like to see different winner's in the late model division. But as a blogger and reporting the news, it is my opinion as of now that Bo will still be the top car. I think he works harder than most of the other guys. I know this is going to make some mad at me. In ending this note let me say, good luck to all the late model drivers in 2008. Odell I NEED MY STOCK CAR FIX TOO! BUT I AM HEARING RAIN COULD BE IN THE FORECAST FOR FRIDAY NIGHT, AND NO RACES NEXT FRIDAY.

Odell, Bo's car looked fast and was fast. I had him in the low 16's on my handheld stopwatch. He needs to be back on his game this year. There are some FAST cars coming to good ole BBRP just to try and knock Bo off the top of the heap. Gary Summers has a screamin' demon of a Ford ready to go with Kevin Lamastus set to wheel it. The Summers Open Wheel is bad too. It should be fast considering what it has under the hood.To all the racers, I can't wait for Friday night. If I don't get my roundy-round fix pretty soon I'm gonna blow a gasket.Ford vs. Chevy is one thing, but there MIGHT be a Toyota Late Model appearing here this year. I got a call from a driver I can't name yet who has a factory deal with Toyota for 2008. Right now they're building the motors, and he will mostly run dirt, but he's heard about Bo and some of our other guys and might decide to make a stop at BBRP later in the summer. The dirt cars will debut in May and they'll have their pavement super late done by June.
