POSTED 3-7-10 TEST AND TUNE HAS A BIG SHOW OF CARS, DRIVERS, OWNERS AND FANS!

Test and Tune had a great show of drag cars today at Beech Bend Raceway Park.  The men and women had the cars ready to go.  Looks like the 2010 NHRA drags season is going to be exciting.  I know we have some great stories to share with you and will have more during the year.  Please bookmark this site and check it every day for up to date news and rumors.  Feel free to send news to us and by the way make your comments on each post.  Srr you at the track and good luck racers.

The stock cars didn't have as big of a showing but we did see some new drivers and new cars.  In the photo above is the team of Turn or Burn Motorsports working on the late model #31 with driver Josh Byrns shown here next to the car.  Good luck Josh and all the stock car racers in 2010.

POSTED 3-7-10 THE MAN BEHIND THE MICOPHONE

The Jones Family owns Beech Bend Raceway Park and we have them to thank for a very nice facility to see some of the best drag and stock car racing in this area.  This year I am going to try to work my blog site more aggressive.  Which brings me to this story.   "Smokin Joe" Morris, Beech Bend Raceway track announcer.  Smokin Joe is from Butler county.  He lives in a small community are called Woodbury, KY.  He works both the drag racing and stock cars.  After talking to him today, he told me that he has been working this job for five years.  Sometimes, we the fans and racers fell to tell workers like Joe, thanks!  From use at local racing news and rumors we would like to say, thank you so much.

POSTED 3-3-10 NEWS ABOUT THE ALL AMERICAN BOMBER CLASS

All American Bomber Class 2009 Champion Jason Turner will not return in 2010.  Who will be the 2010 Champ?  Henry Belcher has picked up the #75 car from Jason Turner and should be a strong car.  I'm hearing the guys from Scottsville are all building cars.  This class should be very exciting.

Dakota Gibson has a new car for the front runner class and I'm hearing it has some PINK in the color of that # 5 machine.  PINK???? lol

POSTED 3-1-10 IS SOGGY BOTTOM SPEEDWAY CLOSING?

A Source has told me that Soggy Bottom Speedway in Morgantown, KY. is for sale.  I have also heard that the track would be closed for 2010 season if it didn't sell.  On another note I heard that the ownership had been worked out and the track will be open 2010.  If anyone has more about the track please post under comments or send me an email.

POSTED 3-1-10 NEWS UPDATE FROM RACEWORLD

Odell i wanted to clear up a rumor, we have not sold raceworld and will re open for the 2010 season the last weekend in march. we had an auction trying to sell some of the real estate only and did not sell it, we will be doing special 50 lap races at discount's on week nights and a special family day on Sunday afternoons, we no how tough it is everywhere and want to help on the family budget, i will send you more latter, thanks for helping me get the word out. spivey.

POSTED 2-28-10 CLOSING OF OVAL TRACKS ALL AROUND THE AREA

  RIVERVIEW SPEEDWAY WILL BE CLOSED FOR THE 2010 SEASON !!!!

As the economy hits America hard, it also hits area race tracks.  Race fans if you love racing and your local track is still open for 2010 season, you need to show your support by not missing a race and racers build them cars and racing them.  I know of drivers that have cars just sitting in barns, garages and etc.  If we don't back our track all over America then another track will be added to the list of tracks closing.

Come celebrate Media Day at The Highland Rim Speedway!

For those of you who have not heard, Bobby & Stephanie Hamilton, Jr are the proud new owners of the The Rim.  We welcome all of you to join us for our "warm- up" Racing event this Sat 3/6 prepping for The Big Opening Race Day on 3/13!  Complimentary food and drink for the fans.  Drivers will spotlight their cars about 11am and begin practice at 12pm.   Lots of changes, renovations, renewal of an amazing family environment happening everyday and more on its way.

We are looking at various media avenues for the upcoming season and would love to hear from your teams about partnering ideas, advertising packages, special event coverage, press releases, and more.  The Highland Rim Speedway website at www.highlandrim.com is being updated and enhanced with news events, new sponsorships, links to corporate sponsors.

Why not look to the The Rim as another partner to share your upcoming events as well.

I was at Highland Rim Speedway today and talked to Bobby Hamilton, Jr.  He was very busy and had a crew cutting weeds and cleaning up.  Bobby did say they were very busy and the weather had really been a factor.  Race fans look for some exciting racing coming to the Rim in 2010.  More updates and news about the Rim as I get them.

I was at Music City Raceway today.  They had a nice little crowd.  Several cars and several bikes.  Looks like Music City Raceway is getting ready for a big 2010 drag racing season.
