I am hearing
alot of buzz going around the pits about the flagman. I heard comments about the wreck with Daniel Young #9 and Joey
Stancil #10 being the flagman's fault. I heard this week some of the Baby Pro crews talking about the finish of the race being the flagman's fault. I did not see this. I have heard other talking about the flagman. My question is he doing that bad or is it just over kill? Let me heard from you, but keep it clean, please!

Many of you remember I flaged the races several years ago. I don,t think anyone should judge the flagman until you have been up there and tried it.It is a lot harder to watch both curves and two straight aways than you think.I think there needs to be someone in both curves watching and helping him.I got to know a lot of the drivers while I was flaging, and are still friends with all of them.I never had a problem with but one driver during my time flaging, he did not agree with a call I made,I told him I did it as best I could and if he did not agree, or if it was wrong I was sorry. The next week he came and said he was sorry,we still have good people like him racing today. In fact he still races .During the time I flaged I held the drivers meetings, and on a few occasions had a seperate meeting with drivers that I knew there was trouble brewing between.I told them I knew what was going on and if they started anything I would black flag them. Seems like we could use a few of those meetings now.I made mistakes as anyone else is going to do, but I never made a call in favor of any driver because of who he was.I am one the most loyal fans at BBR. and have made a lot of new friends out there. My grandson Casey raced for 4 years, and we had a lot of fun, until it got to where we either expested to get our car torn up or have to fight. When that started happening it got where it was not fun any more so we quit.I personally don,t want to see anyone get their car tore up and even worse get injured.I hope all of you will stop and think before you make a hasty decision. I had rather watch good clean tight racing than to see wrecks. I hope we are all still friends, good luck to all of you.Aubrey
I'm not tryin to sound like a broken record but there has been something in every sportsman race. now I know that he is doing the best he can do but dont start a race w/one car a car length and a half a head of the other polesitter, also on restarts dont give the sign of 2 to go and then throw the green.and when you have obvious cars tryin to take out another car REDFLAG the race lets get those guys out of there.
Maybe Dallas will put the flagman on the podium,at the drivers meeting. If I was flaging I would want to hear you the drivers concerns.Aubrey
I MEAN FOR THIS TO BE A SERIOUS QUESTION; WHAT QUALIFICATIONS DOES ONE HAVE TO HAVE TO BE BROUGHT IN AS A FLAGMAN? I ASK THAT BECAUSE MAYBE THIS GUY DOES HAVE THE EXPERIENCE THAT IS NEEDED TO PERFORM AT HIS JOB DUTIES. EVERYONE MAKES MISTAKES AND THAT IS UNDERSTANDABLE BUT IT IS NOT UNDERSTANDABLE ON DALLAS'S PART IF THIS GUY IS NOT QUALIFIED FOR THE JOB. AUBREY STATED THAT "IT IS NOT THAT EASY" AND I AM SURE IT IS NOT BUT THIS GUY HAS TO KNOW THAT DRIVERS DEPEND ON THEIR EQUIPMENT, DRIVING STYLE AND HIM TO KEEP THEM SAFE WHILE ON THE TRACK. I AGREE THAT THERE SHOULD BE MORE FLAGMEN AROUND THE TRACK THAN JUST THAT ONE. WHY DOES GARY DALTON HOLD A CAUTION FLAG...CAN HE NOT THROW IT OUT WHEN HE SEES A WRECK THAT THE FLAGMAN DOESN'T? JUST WONDERING. WHO KNOWS, THE FLAGMAN MAY ONLY BE FOLLOWING ORDERS FROM THE TOWER. IT MAY NOT BE HIS FAULT AT ALL.
Ive also wonderd if the flagman was getting orders from the tower as well.
If you talk to people that work at the track, you will find out that he doesn't make the calls the radio on his head does
