POSTED 5/31/07 HOOSIER TIRES????
Beech Bend has changed our track tire. We are now to use Hoosiers. It was reported to me that #44 Phillip Akin in his sportsman car finished 5th Friday night -7.494 behind the leader #03 Rick Stamper. Then on Monday after mounting Hoosier tires, Phillip wins. William Johnson finished second to Phillip at -5.271 behind. Rick Stamper, winner Friday finished fourth -7.125 behind Phillip. Big turn around. I had several sources that said #22 Brian Cherry put on Hoosier tires and was at Beech Bend Tuesday night for testing and recorded several laps at 16:90's. Brian was the track record holder last year at 17:28, I think. So it looks like Brian will be the man to beat. Super Fast!!!! Good job Brian!

POSTED 5/29/07 HEARING THAT JR HENSON AND BILLY WILLIAMS OF TENNESSEE WILL BE RACING AT BEECH BEND AGAIN THIS YEAR
A source that I know and trust called me at home tonight with some news for my site. The source said that Jr. Henson and his wife Christy told him that Dallas told them it was okay to come back to watch the races. Then they both told my source that Dallas has now told them that they and Billy Williams could both come back and race again. They said that they would have their car here in a couple of weeks. Remember this is only one side of a story. I would like to invited Dallas to respond to this post if he reads it, because many drivers are concerned.

POSTED 5/29/07 CONCERN ABOUT JR. HENSON COMING BACK!
Odell, I said I would be quiet after my last opinion, but I just had to have my say about this. I saw Junior Henson buttering up to Clay Jones @ Mondays race if they let him come back I hope everyone will load their cars and leave, and I am sure it probably is going to happen, that he will get to come back. Thanks, XXXXXXXXXX ( I replaced the name with X's. The author of this email did not ask me to leave their name off, and neither did they tell me to post the email. But I have been told by many different fans, and racers just about the same story. So I thought this email deserved to be published. Thanks for sending your concerned email. Odell)

POSTED 5/20/07 CHANGES BEEN MADE TO THIS SITE!
I have made a change on the way you can post. Unfortunately, with some of the negative post coming close to threats, if not threats, I feel it necessary to change the posting from anonymous to where you have to create a name and sign in. I do believe that someone is getting on this site just to create a problem between drivers. I am not perfect, but I did create this blog to share news and rumors about local racing. My intentions were to make stock racing in this area more popular and lots more fun. Joey Stancil and Danny Marr seem to have worked out their differences, but some poeple on here keep trying to stir it up. As for Keith Montgomery's car, as far as I see it, the rules are pretty well wide open in that class. The tires and engine is about all the major rules, and it is simply a buy rule on the engine in which you the drivers okayed the dollar amount to buy that engine. Just remember to buy with this in mind you will probably get yours bought the next week or so, and do it with NO hard feelings or just keep your money in your pocket. You may have noticed that I have deleted some post. I will delete the ones with threats, too much harsh language. Please keep posting that is what I want on this site, but let's don't get crazy, please! Be sensible when making a post. If you think I am not fair on this please send a post or email me at kyjava1997@aol.com Other sites like this do not allow your comments so please do not make me cut them out. Again, thanks to all who read this site almost daily and to you that post. Your blogging friend, racer and race fan, Odell

This picture is not very good but it is him to the right pictured at the Mid-South Racing Association Awards dinner at Christmas around 1989 I think? Tiny, Big, Jerry Cline and myself bowled on a league together back in 1986. Tiny was a very close friend of mine and I can say, Tiny I will miss you. Rest in peace buddy. God Speed! (Please post your condolences)
POSTED 5/16/07 EMAIL FROM DOODLE
Well, by now I am sure some of you have heard. I have sold The Rocket. It may come as a shock to some and some may just not care. I have decided not to run a full time schedule at BBR this season. I do have the option of driving the car for the guy that bought it and I may do that every once in awhile. I have also had several offers from other people to drive their car. I may do that some as well. Whatever I decide, I know that it will only be a limited schedule. I have plans of building me a different car and running some races at Jeffersonville, In. at the Sportsdrome. I am not going to rush that process. I might go up some toward then end of the year and race but I am certain that I will be there full time in 2008.
I will continue to attend races at BBR and support friends and family and enjoy not having all the stress of driving full time and bring out the other toy...my Harley. I want to thank everyone that has helped me throughout the years. Without their help and support much of my success at BBR would not have been possible. I hope with your continued support that we can be as successful. I want to also thank all the sponsors that has came on board this year and years past and all the support they have provided. Again, I hope that I will have your continued support throughout this transition. This may or may not be the best decision I have made but to continue to have fun racing I feel I have to go elsewhere. To me the figure 8 is about fun and excitement and I don't think BBR is providing that to the racers or the fans. After watching the races at the Sportsdrome, I feel like that is where I want to race. I have talked with several drivers from that area and all have said they are excited about me coming and would welcome me there. I will not be at BBR Memorial Day weekend b/c I am going to the Coca Cola 600. I want to wish everyone good luck and remind them all to be safe. I am sure I will be checking in to see how things went. I will see you guy (and girls) in June. Good luck to all, Doodle.

I would personally like to say thanks to every driver, volunteer and my sponsors that helped put this show on. This was not a show for Turner Racing but for all stock car racers and stock car fans! I love stock car racing and am glad to be a part of helping promote racing in this area. Again, thanks to all of you that came and helped. Without you it would have been impossible.
